    Default Buying via steam

    I kinda have two questions.

    1) What do you you think is better? Buying via steam or in a store?

2)lets say I buy through steam, would I be able to install mods that will be made for medieval 2?

    thanks anyway.

    Store.
    you have what you have
You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.

Store, purely for the sake of getting the pretty box.

I see no reason why mods wouldn't work with the Steam version. The data files are all the same.

Thanks guys. I asked because the game is not in stores yet in the middle east, (I suppose it will be here a week from now) and the game is allready in steam, so its a question of waiting for the game another week or so, or buying it right now. I guess ill wait

You would be able to mod the game, since its the same as a DVD version except for being inside the steam\steamapps\common folder instead of a Sega\M2TW folder.

However the nasty thing is I cannot play online against people who dont have the steam version, which sucks. I'm hoping Valve or CA will fix this but who knows, it could forever.

Not to mention that the Steam versions of games usually run slower.

Red Orchestra ran slower because steam has to unpack the game files each time you play, luckily Valve worked with the devs to have a "unpacked' version released.

Isn't the steam version less expensive?

I like steam. Its rather convenient when you don't have to go from store to store to find what you're looking for.

Steam is a pretty cool way to get a game, I must say. I got Red Orchestra: Ostfront and DoD:S that way. Fast and efficient. It sure comes in handy if you can't get to a place where the game is sold.

As far as MTW2 goes, since it was such a global release, the store-bought version would most likely be your best bet.
