Just had my first Heroic victory...

It truly was fun... but... there's no marker on the map!? I can't believe this little featureis gone now too. I sorely miss this.

Anyone else seen them at all??

I seem to get them every other battle on M/H. Never knew there used to be a marker on the map though, did that happen in M1 and Rome?

It happened in ROME.

Wurfspiess, you've seen markers on the M2TW map? PLease share a screenie. I've seen none.

I have one in Northern France as England. It's two very small crossed swords.

I've seen one between Milan and the HRE and I had one as England v Rebels in a naval battle, but I didn't get a marker.

Yes, the same as in RTW. They could have done something different, when I saw it it made me feel as if I was playing Rome. Really cool feature, I'm glad they kept it.

I have a lot of markers on my France campaign. You don't get them for sieges, only for field battles. Well, the city might block the marker but yea

Well, when I besieged a rebel town with a vastly smaller, but superior force, I chose to wait and starve out the beseiged like I always do (I'm not fond of storming a city or castle unless I have to). However, the rebel army decided to sally forth the next turn (just what I waited for in the first place) and I pulled back my line to the open plains outside of town. There, I absolutely crushed the enemy against all odds and achieved an 'Heroic Victory.'

Sure enough, next time I check, there are two sword markers on the map just outside of the cities. I've also seen many of these in my Byzantium and Turks campaigns (horse archer armies vs. foot soldiers = lol Heroic Victories every time). Therefore, I'm absolutely sure these markers are in the game.

I've never figured out the requisites for getting markers though. Even in RTW, it seemed that it was random, and only happens with those heroic battles (perhaps it depends on how heroic/great the victory was?).

It's strange that I've had lots of my Turkish battles not result in heroic victories, despite it being against my favor and having very little casualities.

They only happen following very large, decisive battles. Usually only my battles that define my war against an opposing faction (i.e. tip the balance of power) make it as markers. I see them quite often in the long run, though.
