Default Third Age Mod Crashes on Steam! Help?

    Hello!
I am somewhat new to these forums so I thought I'd get straight to the point. I bought the Medieval II - Total War with the expansion off of steam about a week ago. I then downloaded the Third Age Mod and played it for quite a while. My game folder was in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War

I installed the mod, which was Part 1, Part 2, and then the 3.2 Patch. It was working up until yesterday, where for some reason it stopped working. First it gave me a graphics error so I uninstalled it. I reinstalled the mod and now it gives me a "Steam Client Bootstrapper Crash". It calls it an "APPCRASH" and I can't seem to find out why. I uninstalled the mod again and reinstalled it and still got this message. Then I uninstalled the entire game and reinstalled it, with the same issue coming up. I will be trying this one more time before attempting to uninstall Steam and reinstalling it. I should note that the game itself will load - just not the mod. The Steam Client and Medieval2.exe both crash for whatever reason when I try opening the mod, so I'm running out of solutions. Nobody else seems to have this issue, I might add. My game won't even open.

    System:

    ASUS Intel Core i5
    Windows 8.1

If you need anymore information let me know, but I can't seem to find a fix for this.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Cheers!

    1) Verify that you can start your M2TW and Kingdoms campaigns.

    2) Take Ownership of your main Medieval II Total War folder, here is how to do it in Windows 8.1: http://tipsandtricksforum.com/thread-223.html

    3) Install TATW 3.0 both parts and TATW 3.2 Patch ( destination folder is your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War, so it is NOT C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods, nor is it C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age_3 ! )

    4) After installing TATW files, rename one of your Kingdoms campaign folders ( for example Americas to original_Americas. do not delete any Kingdoms campaign folder, you are just renaming it) and, rename Third_Age_3 folder as Americas. Go to your Steam, and start Americas campaign, and you should be playing TATW 3.2.

    Good luck!
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.
