I cannot play any Roma Surrectum II campaigns (disc version)

I wonder if someone could help me.

I have the RomeTW Anthology disc version of the game, with Roma Surrectum 2.6 installed. When I double click my RomeTW.exe shortcut, it loads up Roma Surrectum 2 battlefield mode absolutely fine. However, I cannot get the Roma Surrectum 2 launcher to work: after the drumroll, the RomeTW icon briefly appears, then nothing. No error message. It just disappears and the game does not load.

I have checked my preferences file, given administrator access, tried various compatibility modes and have also tried running the game with secdrv disabled, all to no avail.

I know I have a working installation of the mod, because battlefield mode wouldn’t load and work otherwise, would it? There is something stopping the launcher from working correctly and I haven’t got a clue what it is. Any help would be appreciated.
