    Howdy great peeps,

Came here to ask if & where I can edit:
    - Starting Buildings
    - Empire Maintenance

I want to give the Ardiaei a higher level 'barracks' straight off,
and to make Empire Maintenance a bit higher.

If anyone could direct me to where I can edit it,
that would be absolutely grand & I'd be highly thankful.

    Kind regards,
    Mike

To change the starting buildings you need to change the startpos. And as I understand this could be difficult at least Dresden seems reluctant to do this unless it is absolutely necessary to the mod.
    But try asking him

There are already guides on how to edit .esf and how to edit starting armies/buildings on this forums (I think even Dresden made one for DEI). However, if You really, really, really can't do it, I can do it for You if You give me 2 details: 1. What tier of barracks, 2. How many turns per year are You playing.

Find the REGION ARRAY for the town you want to edit and change the buildings there.

The corruption levels are controlled by the tax efficiency numbers in campaign variables.

    Howdy Dresden,

I changed the town's port to 'secondary',
and then instead of 'rom_BARBARIAN_port_minor_2' I gave it 'rom_BARBARIAN_enclosure_minor_stables_4'.
(I couldn't add a 'BUILDING' under 'BUILDING_MANAGER' for the 2nd/3rd slot, so I decided to "remove" the port slot)

That's all I need to do right? The barracks now shows up without any visible issues,
& I can recruit the Royal Cavalry, except that the barracks is now half under the sea.

But this shouldn't give any issues whatsoever correct?
Or is there anything else I should change, should future issues arise?

    Hoping for an answer,
    Mike

You may run into unforeseen issues replacing a port with a non-port building. I have never tried it in any long term testing. But, it could work.

For some reason, the food from the port that I removed - still counts towards the food supply.
I did check if ships could 'dock' with it, but they cannot.

I've played 40 turns and so far no issue has arisen,
let's hope it remains as such!

    Best regards,
    Mike

I've added a 3rd slot to Ardiaei and placed Your desired building there and sent You the link over PM.
