Guard mode

Hi!

I set the guard mode on and off a lot of times but have never seen that it would change anything. Can some1 explain?

And another thing: can you give orders for formation to specific units?

If guard mode is on your troops will not chase the enemy routing from battle. This is useful if you're guarding a bridge or castle gate and don't want to leave a strong position.

If your troops have special formations then yes i.e schiltron, wedge but the formation button on the right of the UI is for your army as a whole.

also the unit will maintain a tight formation and not "wrap" around the enemy unit while in combat.

i wonder if it helps cavalary problem(spreading while attacking sometimes)

It also makes the unit stay on formation. a unit of pikemen normaly will charge to swords after they are engauged but if they are in gaurd mode they will just try to keep the enemy away from melee distance with their pikes. Guard mode isnt for killing its for holding your position for as long as posible.
