That will then also give sufficient contrast for easier identification.

I have compiled a few variations, I tend to like the last one the most.

I’m not a fan of the brazier on the right. I think the chinese ones are more identifiable.

same here, I'd rather prefer a cleaner design; personally I believe that a figure on the left and the rest used for the text will do nice, since overloading the badge with details will give the opposite effect and make it less distinguishable

I am with Flinn, having elements on both sides severely limits the space for writing. The brazier somehow doesn't 'gel' with the rest of the layout anyhow.

Yes. The brazier does not seem essential to me.

Those are better. It might benefit from bigger figures on the left. Is a more high res version available?

    Badge size is 175x60 pixels.
I can show you an expanded version but if these are selected that's how big they are going to be.

Ah, it it the figures then that are low resolution. Is there anything that can be done about that?

The original figures are in good resolution but then I need to shrink them to a height of 60 pixels.
    It's not that I can't do better.
There's only so much information one can squeeze in 60 pixels.

About this Norman guys - they look good, but... Don't they look too good? I mean that they have very fancy and shiny equipment, belts like that were reserved for nobles, not for militia or even regular soldiers, they were symbol of knights status almost as much as sword was. Another thing, which I already told you some (long ) time ago, is that in my opinion you are placing too much colorful and detailed coats of arms on some commoners shields and sometimes even in units that were supposed to exist in earlier medieval periods, when heraldry was not that much developed even among the knighthood. Last thing, these red-blue helmets don't exactly fit to that kind of unit too. Please don't get me wrong - quality of your work is exceptional, I have issues only about historical correctness. Keep up your good work

You are probably correct on most of your observations/remarks.
It was never my intention to be totally historically accurate.

I chose to give them equipment that looks timely in shape and make but also chose to make them that colorful.
They would look too dreary for my taste otherwise.

Anyway, I have the variety for anyone who is interested.

The same basic pattern with minor tweaks, also with riveted rims, metal and leather.
I took Akar's recommendation and now the stitching is barely visible.
Perhaps the normal map can make the difference.

Hi Paleologos do you have a download link for these awesome looking shields? If possible could you have in a separate file the steel boss from the center?
