k, i have some castles and they are at the level where i can build armored seargants. i wanna get some heavy infantry though, so i wanna upgrade to the next level, but i get no option to build the next level of walls.
any hints?
thanks

You dont have the manual eh?
you need a population of 9000 to upgrade them to a citadel
You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.
the real truth is that i went up to usc for the cal game with my family (i got to usc) and brough the manual in my car. When we came back i forgot the manual.
so i don't have it.
it's pretty lame.
its understandable, actually.
in some text, somewhere.. not sure if it was a tooltip, ingame advisor, or a web review of the game, i specifically recall reading that 'castles do not require you to reach a population threshhold to upgrade to a larger settlement - you can do so any time that you have the money'
so i was confused the first time i played as well. i didnt even glance at the manual.. i figured i pretty much knew the drill since i played rome: tw and alll of its expansions for hundreds of hours.
