They have been there for about 100 years (50 turns); started out as crusaders and then haven't moved since... blocks lots of stuff from happening to/with Venice.
Spain and Venice are not allies.
h/h game.

good times
I pissed off the edge of the wall.. slept in a sky cell. Fought with the hill tribes... so many adventures
I had an English army stuck ON THE EXACT SAME SPOT for about 100 turns. They never moved. They were a crusading army that just got stuck.
This should be entered as a bug in the list.

Exactly the same happened with a sicily army in a game of mine. They eventually moved, though.
Why would you want to overclock a celeron? It woudl only make it suck faster...

It's definitely a bug, there was a Hungarian crusader army in the exact same spot for about 20? turns. I took the last Hungarian city so the crusader army turned into a rebel army, I then just assaulted them across the bridge to clear them out since they were annoying the hell out of me just sitting there.
Until it gets patched, it's probably best to leave a mixture of ranged and spear units on the bridge, just to stop the AI armies from camping there. Although even after the bug is fixed, it's probably a good idea to reinforce the bridge if you control Venice.

Not really, I have seen a French crusader was wondering in France, and then attacked my Spain suddenly. None of their units deserted and their crusading target was Jerusalm.
Same thing also happened latter in the same campaign. Moors brought a huge army passed through my Spain and march into France without any purpose - not a jihad. I did not track them but I believe they went to Denmark or HRE.
It also seems that Sicilian princess would trap in that area usually. I have seen bunch of princesses trap in the HRE town in Italy without a reason.
yup I had the same problem as the HRE. I called a crusade against the city of Venice and took it. Then a full stack army that was on the crusade just sat there 10 turns but they did move eventually
Man cant wait till theese bugs are fixed.

I think that the Bridge has such a good "Tactical Advantage" that the AI rates it's position extremely well because it stops Venice moving troops out.
I think the AI wont move because it has such a great tactical position (regardless of it being absolutely miles from where it should be.
I noticed this in different areas. Denmark wouldn't move from Scandinavia before.
OK, so I can esxpect this Spanish army to stay there forever. Too bad, it's a full stack and is consequently wasting away Spain's resources...
And yes it can be a true crsader army- the AI does not have deserters in its crusader armies no matter what- I've seen them sit by Constantinople and get no further and no one leaves.
