Default Command Tent of Lord Richard Neville

A grand sized tent lay on the fields of Constantinople belonging to the Lord of York, his banner raised in front of the entrance. The tent is equipped with all the comforts of mobile living, a bed, couches, tables, chairs and a desk, all of finest goods money can purchase. For the most part Richard is mostly in his tent, either writing letters back to his fief to assist his siblings in the governance of the lands or reading books on various strategies to defeat the Saracens. Richard is born of noble blood, a pure born and though he accepts all visitors he prefers those closer to his status and blood.

Lord Richard Neville's Host: 1,720 Men

    258 bowmen
    258 footmen
    258 spearman
    430 men at arms
    516 Knights

Richard was sitting as usual at his desk, he had just finished a letter to his younger brother when Stepan arrived. Richard smile with joy and welcomed him to sit.
Welcome brother, may I offer you something?

    Stepan sits and says

No my lord, I shall fight and feast with the germans, and I recommend you come as well. I came here to ask that I offically swear fealty to you, and that that trumped up son of a whore Robert Curthouse doesnt end up leader of the Normans. The man got not one vote in the election to be ruler, and he will lead us to disaster. If you wish my lord, I will not throw down the gauntlet, but slap him with it and call him a son of a whore and challenge his right to lead and draw swords on the spot. For I feel he will lead us all to our deaths

You are a great knight and a faithful friend, it would be a great honour to my house to have you as my vassal.

Stepan of Poland knees and draws his sword and kisses it and lays it at his lords feet and bows his head and says

"I promise on my faith that I will in the future be faithful to the lord, never cause him harm and will observe my homage to him completely against all persons in good faith and without deceit."

Finally for once in life I feel as I am not adrift in the sea of politics. Well lets go about to getting you to lead the norman host, and hopefully make you a present day Seleucus Nicator, lord of the Orient!

I am not in good favour with that bastard de Baluun..... What is with these nobles and appointing bastards to lead the armies? Sadly friend this is what we have come too an army of bastards, the best thing we can do is to try and form our own army with any noble or knight willing to join. If we can gather 10,000 men we will be able to take Antioch a forge our new kingdom

Stepan gives a crooked half smile and says

Well my lord, your newest vassal is one of those bastards, the child of a king and the daughter of the Duke of Meissen on a diplomatic. If my father had emptied his balls into his wife, I would be a king of Poland and Velliky Kynaz of Kiev. God forbid someone let me in charge of a village, let alone a fief

The Pole gives a hearty laugh and pulls out a flask and uncorks it and says

Well now let's have a drink and celebrate another day of life. Here drink this, the monk's call it Aqua Vitae, though we call it firewater. A few flasks of this shyte and you will not know where you wake up tomorrow and have a right great time.

A letter would arrive to Richard's tent carried by one of Annalisa's guards. The letter would be read as the following

    Letter
To the Noble lord, Richard Neville.

I appreciate your present. I have the flowers put on my royal table so that anyone can see them. I must say you are very well mannered, unlike some others.

That being said i haven't forgotten about you and i was thinking of you lately, maybe we should meet up and find pleasure in each others arms while time permits us?

    From Annalisa Di Salernii

Bishop of Langres, Robert de Bourgogne, arrived at the command tent of Lord Neville. He spoke a bit to the Englishmen around camp. They came off as rather cold, due to his French background no less. He awaited to see the Count patiently.

Richard lay sitting at his desk reading the letter from the lady Annalisa, when the bishop of langres arrives for a visit. He gently places the letter inside the desk and greets the bishop

Robert smiled, it was a semi forced smile. The Lord Count stayed seated upon the Bishop's entry into the room. It was just an error in protocol, and perhaps Robert read too much into. He continued to stand, eventually speaking
"My Lord Neville, I had wished to speak to you about our discussion the other day. The Cilicia discussion. Have you made any preparations for it if I may ask?"
