Game won't load with bat file anymore

Hi guys,

I'm playing Third Age Total War with DAC submod. I Always launch with the bat file and it works fine, until yesterday. Now when I use the bat file the game simply won't load. No error messages, nothing. Just nothing happens.

Ideas? Can someone help me out?

BTW I use Steam and internet is very bad at the moment.

I had the same problem to yesterday. There was an update on steam and idk if that update messed something up or what.

Same here.

I found a thread somewhere else talking about disabling the steam beta updates, but I'm not using the steam beta so that was no help.

I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one having this problem!

I am having the same problem. I dont have any submods though. Tried reinstalling and still the same. Game does not launch. Tried running as administrator and it says cant find kingdoms.exe file. i reinstalled it exactly as installation instructions for steam version. Running windows 10. Worked fine before the lastest steam update that I got yesterday.

I reinstalled, i made verify caché, i have went after the links given some posts above and i saw it was simply a reinstallation ... and im unhappy due i have not still end my campaign with the Silvan Elfs that im playing for almost 2 years

I found a solution. Go to Steam and add click on Mediëval -> Properties -> Set Launch Options -> --features.mod=mods/Third_Age_3

I have SS installed, that works perfectly, will that option not blok the acess to SS or anyother mod ?

Yes I think it does, but you can swith between mods by changing the last part -> Third_Age_3 becomes SS or whatever you named the Stainless Steel folder.

I did those steps as your said, and typed in "features.mod=mods/Third_Age_3" (with no quotes) and it still does the same thing.

I'm not an expert on this, but did you change any names of the folders? This can explain why it isn't working.


In my Third Age.bat file I have this line:

start kingdoms.exe @mods\Third_Age_3\TATW.cfg

Do you guys have the same line?

Ill have to get back to you on that because I made a silly mistake and deleted it to reinstall it. It might take a few weeks until i find a good day to do it. I've been pretty busy with other things lately.

Does your Third Age folder have the same name as mine, because it won't work if it isn't.
