Wynebald took some time between visits to think, to wrap his head around everything. He arrived in the presence of Robert Curthouse and asked him for a moment alone. He would tell him the Lord Commanders message, without telling him the full wind of it. Wynebald knew implication had one place, the mind of the recipient. He would tell him the facts. He would tell him it is time to see a clergyman of the camp, he would proclaim himself a man of God and only of God. He needed to convince the clergyman of this. So Wynebald asked for a private audience with Robert

And Robert granted it. The crimson, richly embroidered mantle laid abandoned on the floor, with Robert sitting and staring pensive on a carved chair, strikingly looking like a throne of sorts. The coronet still graced his graying temples, his sword hanging from his side in the ornate scabbard.

"Wynebald, greetings. What brings you here?"

Said Robert, while his fingers carefully stroking his beard.

Wynebald smiled and took a bow in front of Robert, he had spent enough time thinking how to go about it and decided on a way, I just finished a conversation with our Lord Commander, fascinating man really. I think you made a deft decision in backing him. I also think he is close to God, by that I just mean his piety. So that made me think, with all the swarming questions about your prior....indiscretions....perhaps it would be wise to seek out a clergyman. Seek out this clergyman and renew yourself in the eyes of God and Men. Maybe then God shall see fit to bestow the burden of leadership upon you. Me and the Lord Commander spoke about the leader of the Normans for some time as well, it seems to be a close call.

Wynebald paced while he spoke. He ended however having stopped at Roberts feet, looking intently into his eyes. He nodded with subtlety and continued,
I would be honored to accompany you Duke Robert, as an earthly witness.

Priests burn well... God forgive me, I'm but a poor sinner.

"Of course, Wynebald! Nord Cadburie, that's a sound idea"

He sipped the remnants of the wine and raised from his seat. He tossed the goblet aside, landing near the cloak and over the gurs covering the ground.

"I have my own clergyman, Orderic, a most clever man from an abbey at Shrewsbury. But we might need a more public conciliation with god and his..."

    Lackeys

"Most humble servants. As you very well said. Arques!"

He shouted, and Helias de Saint-Saes appeared on the tent, armored.

"Prepare my guards, we're going to visit a clergyman!"

    "Don't we have enough, sire?

"Prepare the guards! You lead the way, Cadburie"

If I may, Duke Robert, have your guard follow but not too closely. On this day you should go as a man in Gods army, not as Duke Robert Curthouse. You should show all you are humble and pious in one fell swoop. Your men may follow, maybe five, ten minutes behind? Pick a guard to go along with my brother and myself, and we shall ride to the Bishops tent. Just a suggestion of course. Wynebald finished as he exited the tent, allowing Lord Curthouse to make whatever decision he saw fit. In his heart he thought, I will make this man loved by all if he lets me.

"Ha! I don't need guards! I can crush a man's skull with my bare hands! Cadburie's advice is clever, indeed"

    He patted Helias' back.

    "I'll go alone, Arques"

    "As you wish, sire"

"Dieu awaits us, mon seigneur de Cadburie, allez!"
