Default Is this the "EB" of Rome 2?

Im curious about Rome 2 since I plan on getting it soon. I know the vanilla base game is doodums(which is why ive waited so long), but mods always fix the mistakes of the suits

Anyway, is this the Europa Barbaroum of Rome 2 mods? Im looking for hardcore accuracy, new factions, new units, all that mess

Indeed it is. Divide et Imperia has not only saved Rome II, it has arguably made it a brand new game.

I can't tell you that due to professional bias, but I can tell you it is pretty good.

Yes, yes it is... EB is an all time favorite mod for me, and this is the closest that I have seen any Rome 2 mod come to matching it as a masterpiece. Of course this is within the limitations of Rome 2, but this mod has a number of units and faction details that seem inspired by EB 1. I wholeheartedly recommend DEI!

Also, if you are a fan of EB, you will really appreciate the effort that went into the AOR system!

I can only say we are all big fans of EB. That was one of the main inspirations for the mod.

Hah, nice Oh, and curious, is Rome 2 a mod folderable game like Medieval 2, or is a one at the time thing or something will explode, like Empire and Napoleon?

Also, are there nude units? Something about besieging the great ancient cities with hordes of naked Celts while randomly shouting THERES BLOOD AND PUBIC HAIR EVERYWHERE thats just glorious

There are a bunch of different kinds of "naked" celts/brits, yes

Do you mean how mods work in Rome 2? It's definitely more like Empire and Napoleon - they use the same engine and the same basic modding principles apply to all the newer TW games.

Its not as "educational" as Europa Barbarorum yet, but there is already some historical pop-ups here and there, and all units are historically represented, and have extensive description!
But DeI pushes the game very far in term of pure challenging strategy. Its more a game to survive than a game to read text maybe in the future it will be both!

You can keep mods in one folder, just pick those you want to use in Rome 2 launcher.

I'd call it EB-lite. It's not a whole pile of history books plastered on top of the game (not saying that'd be bad), but it saves R2 the same way RTR and EB saved R1.

Also as mentioned it's more about the challenging the player.

It is not Europa Barbarorum in that it does not have the same focus on teaching you history, as somebody pointed out above. It however the mod that has given me the most feeling of ancient armies fighting in a TW game(EB included). The skins are great but to me the pacing of the battles just feels so good. Given the limitations of the game I really think they have really made the land battles feel maybe not authentic but believable.

DeI won't give you hardcore accuracy. So not really on this front. Not that EB is perfect as the differences between EB and EBII can prove. Obviously DeI is miles ahead of vanilla. Even if it is sometimes "imaginative". There are some inaccurate units here and there.

Now if you are looking for more units. DeI offers you tons and tons of it.

DeI has probably the most developed AoR system. It is a pure wonder. So many peoples represented ! DeI did not only took inspiration from EB and others mods for this but advanced it to new horizons.

You should definitely try the mod.

To me DeI is like the EB3!
I mostly play with the Lusotannan, and just like in EB when I found out about the hidden units (1.2 version nerfed some units) and reverted the situation to have the vasci tanks - Dosidataskeli and the goidlic Ordmalica for the lusitani armies!
After finishing my first lusitani campaign in DeI, I thougt that was missing something... So in my second Lusotannan campaign I altered some files to have the Dosidataskeli and the Ordmalica recruitable for the lusitani.
Thank you DeI Team, best gaming time ever!

If I have to name a Rome 1's mod that was what DeI is to Rome 2, I would rather choose Rome Total Realism: a fine balance between gameplay and historical authenticity. EB is meant for hardcored history fans and sometimes proves too tedious for a casual playing style like mine.

I really liked it when playing EB as the Spartans, a child would come of age, I could put them into Agoge training for a few turns, then send the unit out into the wilderness for a a few more turns, and if they passed, they would get the Spartiate trait, talk about detail.
