Empire of Sand/ Tanukhids questions...

Hey guys and guylettes, I have a couple of questions about Empires of Sand and or Tanukhids:

1. In my Tanukhids campaign the Garamantians have subjugated the Western Roman Empire. Nothing unusual in mid- or lategame, but it happend in early game. At that point WRE still had 55+ regions. WTF. The result is, that the WRE is more or less untouched and the northern Kingdoms dont attack the WRE... just a couple of hording factions are at war with them.

a) How could that have happend? (my best guess is, that the AI accidently doubleclicked and accepted the counteroffer )
b) Did somebody else experienced that or something like this? If yes, was it pre EoS?
c) Bug?

2. The questline of the Tanukhids. How did you do it? It seems stupid to me to weaken the ERE that much, thus help the Sassis even more... So I abandonded the questline. I can see a way how this could maybe work...(Hording a looong looong time, destroy most of ERE, liberate if possible and hope for activ liberated factions, take over/settle and fight the Sassis) ...but there are so many uncertainties.

a) So, how did you do it? How went your campaign, if you sticked to the questline?

3. Political action "Seeking Wife" seems to work now? I have tried this many many times pre EoS (zero success at around 20 tries) and it never worked. So i didnt tried anymore, because influence is a valuable good. After EoS release I tried it again with 100% success rate... is this since EoS and has been patched unnoticed or did I just missed a patchnote earlier?

My best guess for any early WRE vassalization is "food shortage". When I as ERE received the first offers from WRE in 404 they had a bigger empire and something like 5 full stacks. And no immediate existential thread - the Huns where busy with ERE exclusively. BUT - all of their stacks were starving.

This is a recurrent pattern - I get puppet states offers as soon as the puppet state is in food difficulties all over the place, regardless of stack or region strengths or threats. As long as they do not outright hate me (relations worse than -60).
