    Default Proof of laziness

For those of us who delved into the stats files of the older generation TW games, AKA the good ones, we'll remember that missile units had an accuracy factor that could be adjusted numerically. This was not present in RTW and I'm almost certain it's not in M2TW either.

Basically, in the old STW, gun units had a VERY high attack power (40 IIRC) compared to 6-9 on archer units. But their accuracy was far lower. This meant that guns were best used on heavily armored units (or units that rout easily). M2:TW has guns at 14-17 attack and crossbows and bows only a little lower. I'm almost certain the accuracy values are the same across the board. So basically, CA left out an entire layer of tactics/realism for sake of saving a few hours to code in accuracy as an ajustable value.

    Good job CA!

Okay, so what do you hope to achieve with this thread of yours? Perhaps M2TW uses a different system than your beloved "old generation" Total War games, such as calculating extra damage against armored units, which gun units excel against, and non-armored units for the arrows?

if they can simulate the effect in less calculations then why not - this is just complaining for the sake of complaining I'm afraid, and i find it odd that you're so quick to assume the worst of CA without having any evidence to support your claims.

Hmm, they must have released the unpacker...how else could be so certain they have nothing like this in the files?
    /sarcasm

Ok it wasn't in RTW, it wasn't in MTW, but it was in STW, which is...how old again? A decade? There have been a lot of advances in coding, hardware, and supporting software and drivers since STW.

The better assumption is they found an easier way to implement this.
