Those stuff (deeper phalanx) are already present in the mod.You can check battle mechanics section where all these are explained and presented. Also in the video above (GaW tactics) near the end there is a live example of deeper phalanx.

Hey, it's been a while since my lastest pictures so, I thought to show you 2 more just "situation pictures", kind of similar like the other one but less fancy/clean and more BLOODY:

Aiming with 5 full stack levy 1 archers to an athenian elite unit with just less than 20 soldiers, just to take this picture...

we are doing our best.. Mod is already in working state 100% playable but we still enriching with details to achieve max immersion. We could release even today but i feel that it is better to wait a bit to enjoy a 1.0 experience than to play a 0.9 version and then have to play again the 1.0 version. When all is out you will understand..
Cheers and thanks for the support.

That greek helmet, most probably my fav' , the new helmet from post #66 looks quite similar. (In term of shape), how do Greeks call it?

I imagined that this specific shape would have a specific name, its looks simpler than the Beotian I was used to see in on middle-republic roman army.

The beotian helmet was used by early republican equites, beotian helmet was famous between cavalrymen because it allows you to get an extensive overview of the battle area and cavalry need this.

Just popping up to say that the proper latinised name of the region around Thebes is Boeotia and not Beotia. The reason is that the greek letters of "oi" are written in Latin like oe. e.g. Oenomaus and not Oinomaus or Enomaus. Therefore the word Boiotia should be written as Boeotia and the Boiotian helmet as Boeotian helmet. I suppose it is something similar to how in German oe is written like ö or ae like ä. After all, the greek ai is also written in Latin as ae (e.g. Aenesidemus and not Ainesidemus). Transcribing into the latin alphabet the words of the greek inscriptions was probably the hardest job at first, but you quickly get used to, even when it concerns complicated names, like Boeotia.

We havent decided completely yet but due to the "Greek feel" we like to give to the mod we kept some name written similarly to Greek and not like the Latin versions..Yet we are not completely uniformed though and in many cases we got "Hoplitai" or "Hoplites" etc..For all those incosistances i am to blame caus Mr Mausolos is seldom wrong in his texts while me...
We will fix them though one by one in time

Yes, in that transcribed case it would be ''Boiotia''. I am merely commending the way it is done these days in academic circles by historians (and archaeologists or philologians alike), but it is by no means the only option as you know, especially with your contemporary Greek view
"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."
