    Default Anyone here use Auto-Manage?

If anyone here uses Auto-Manage for their cities/castles. Does it work well for you? Ive always gone manual, but its too overwelming at times.

Does the AI do a good job getting you armies and making buildings?

I would love to just concentrate on my military then worrying about my cities/castles.

    Thanks!

Hmm... I never used auto-management (also in Rome-TW), because I just don't trust the AI and I fear to lose overview on what's happening in my empire.
Plus to that, I wouldn't have a lot to do with just concentrating on my military, since I am not a warmonger. I'm not the type of player trying to gain as many provinces as soon as possible. I like to lead an empire of reason. Of course, whoever attacks me, will feel my wrath. The settlement overview scroll, which does show you, inhowfar the population of a city stands behind you, makes it easy to take just enough of a tax rate as to not having it going rebellious. And, of course, I like to be in control of what buildings and units get constructed.

I've always manually managed my cities, but it gets monotonous every round to keep a finger on escape and just cycle through the construction complete windows, so after I have 35+ settlements I will set some cities on automanage and disable recruitment. I set them to finacial build policy and don't bother with them again, mostly because at 35 settlements you are making so much money it doesn't matter if the AI decides to build a couple huge cathedrals for 10k florins.

I place all my cities on auto-taxation, but I manually do everything else. I always need specific units and specific buildings, not generic or random buildings that the AI would build

For realism's sake I let all the cities without governors auto-manage and I manually manage all of the ones with governors.

Seriously though, In real-life places without governors wouldn't produce new buildings unless ones were already being built. The governor doubles as a city manager - aka they tell the city planners what to do.

I'd like to see an option to play with Auto manage off - No Manual Control without a gov. That way uprisings are more likely if you don't put a gov in a city, cause it'll keep growing and squalor will go completely nutz, even having troops there wouldn't solve it. Which I think is very realistic.

Auto manage is bad because it builds the wrong buildings most of the time and recruits peasants most of the time
