Posting in the evening. Running out now to a soccer game.
Due to the recent birth of a beautiful baby girl, daughter of Theodred, Third Marshall of Rohan, the Rohirrim have postponed the assault on the fortress of Saruman. Now is the time for feasting and merry-making, but the men of Rohan will not easily forget the suffering brought by Saruman and will deal with the wizard soon!

Another advance force of orcs is annihilated. Duinhir and his elite bodyguard prove their worth.

Most Promising Youngblood TATW: Chieftain Khuzaymah
The host of Minas Morgul finally march. Under the Witchking the Gondorian forces on the road are mopped up and forced to flee. A battle outside the walls of Eastern Osgiliath brings the garrison level well below the 900 men level and thus the orc spies were free to own the gate to the Ringwraiths and their hordes of orcs. Finally some good news for the bad side.....lets see how long it lasts. Isenguard up

I'm encountering problems when downloading the rar (not for the first time on the forum). May I suggest uploading the pics through a file hosting site? We don't have to download the whole package that way.
I am frustrated with this hotseat in so many ways! I won't bring it up now, but I will let you know all about it when I'm dead or when it's over. Just letting you know a storm is coming.![]()

From the screenshots, it's pretty clear that Mordor violated the above rule. The second screenshot in particular shows Dawndeath already sieging East Osgiliath as the Witch King defeats my small army. I am therefore demanding a replay.
Edit - I knew this rule was in place before I finished my turn. Getting those units to stop short of retreating into either E.O. or the ship should be impossible. They don't have to retreat very far.

Typical as soon as I thought I had got one over you and was feeling smug this happens....ugh, hadn't seen that one coming. Will replay in the morning but that said I don't understand why you are allowed to prevent armies from retreating by blocking a river crossing but not by sieging a settlement...
Probably to prevent results like this. Blocking off a river crossing usually doesn't result in additional enemy forces being defeated or the fall of a settlement which would otherwise not be captured. So the consequences for blocking off a settlement are often much more severe for the other player than the consequences of blocking off a river crossing.
Joe is correct, please replay Mordor.
I've noticed there is a rep reward for winning the semi-final in the Westeros section. Will there be such a reward here?
Yes
Any progress with the replay?
Being done currently, but out of interest how come there were no survivors from Gondor's victory, surely there should have been some especially as there was a character involved?

Maybe Joe disbanded them. If so, that's a sneaky way of getting away with losing a battle. Should be counted as a loss in the admin's eyes in my opinion (if an enemy army was in range, of course).

I did block off the mountain pass, which IMO is the same as blocking off a river crossing. I also disbanded the unit for two reasons: 1) to avoid giving Mordor a free victory to gain a command star or ancillary, and 2) because the retreat function is much less predictable with a greater distance to a friendly settlement.
I never considered it as a way to avoid a defeat. If the admin wants to count it against me, that's fine. The defeat of a single Gondorian unit shouldn't count against me very much at all.
No, as in none of my men left? Will play as I get the time, incredibly busy at the moment
