How many people have got rid of any generals Soviet Style? By that I mean giving them a mission in which you know they're going to die, and then honoring them as heros (Marshal Zhukov was especially known for this...).

“The nation that will insist upon drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to find its fighting done by fools and its thinking by cowards.”

I do that, but with boats. In RTW you couldnt go 2 turns without meeting some pirates.
Same as in the Eastern Med in M2TW.
@Farnan, I dont do this unless the situation is desperate. Like if my heir is rubbish and the next in line to him is really good, but other than that its a waste of a heavy cav unit with 2HP. You can always keep them in your faction leaders army if they are really disloyal, or use them to build watchtowers around your borders. The generals unit is too good to waste unless you really need to.
Under the patronage of Rhah and brother of eventhorizen.
In Rome and BI I did what emperors did: sent undesireables to the borders and let them rot. Though quite interesting how a lot of them turned out.
"The way to a man's heart is through his ribs."
Thats how i get around the currently terrible Heir selction.
When a 'non-pure blood' is made heir, because my real heir is underage, i send the fill in to seige a castle of 400+ on his own. Its quite funny watching them take down 100+ guys before they die.
