Ah okay, you retextured the vanilla crossbow? Cool!

Actually no, the crossbows you see there are totally different models and textures from the vanilla crossbows. Those are OSP crossbows.
For Ltd.'s units that have crossbows anyway, I'm using vanilla ones temporary though I might switch to Ltd's ones for good measure.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that I'm going to be posting some campaign screenshots soon for France. I've also been laying the ground work for the French Vassals, starting with Burgundy. I have this little screen of the selection screen poses of the three playable faction leaders I've gotten on the campaign map so far.

Still a WIP of course but I think it looks quite stunning so far. By the by, you know how hard it is to find any good depictions of the Duke of Burgundy around this time-frame? I basically went with a depiction I found on these coins and what I saw in these Battle of Bouvines reenactment pictures. I might change it if I find a better choice though. I know the accuracy of my depictions of nobles featured varies but for the leaders I try to be closer to accuracy than others nobles.
It looks great but i think there are a few cavalry roster since france known fore some cavalry
I got another minor update screenshot for you guys, while working on Burgundy's units, I adjusted the Count of Anjou's appearance a bit so it looks closer to William Longspree more.

EDIT: I also just realized this guy's eyes look buggy, I discovered the issue(missing texture) and fixed it now. Just in case anybody noticed that.
Nice depiction of those leader ! I can't whait to see the new crossbow model.
Fantastic! Can't wait to see all the other faction leaders!
The Medieval fix we need! Keep up the good work!
Just amazing !
PS : its "Gendarmes" and "Sergents" no?
Wait so the English have no crossbowmen, and the French only have Scots guard as bowmen, I must say that feels a bit to narrow minded.
Really nice preview.
I have one question/suggestion though. Wouldn't it make sense to add another heavy cavalry unit? As the French were supposedly the best knights in the west it makes sense that they have some heavy knight cavalry. The knightly retinue lookes pretty light and the men at arms aren't exactly knights, which leaves only the generals bodyguard and gendarmes, the latter being probably a late game unit (and also men at arms, literal translation of the name, but they were of noble birth). Adding a heavy knight unit to the French army to show that their cavalry was superior, even earlier in game, makes sense to me.
Rosters are not finished, there will be more militia and AOR units, and also cure units.
Oh yes Byzantine empire in game? ?
There are several issue with adding new models for animated weapons, like bows and crossbows: in the case of crossbows for instance, you can add a new model , and as long as the unit is idle, or running , then you see the new model of the crossbow in the unit's hand. once the unit starts using it, so the reload animation kicks in, it reverts back to the default / CA crossbow. Now , this happens with dismounted crossbowmen. Mounted crossbowmen don't seem to have this problem, since it uses a different reload animation.
I tried to add the proper animation_fragment of the mounted xbowmen to the foot crossbowmen and the results were less than satisfying: practically the units elevated to a mounted position when reloading.
The other things is to have the crossbows themselves animated, like when pulling back the string. But I could live with un-animated strings, if only we could get the units use the new models when reloading as well. well, it' s WIP.
It looks like France will be my 2'd campaign of the game... Just awesome, outstanding units and interesting territory. Good work
Pretty good!
I posted that in the general suggestion thread, but i'm unable to edit any of my post (is it a secret button? ^^)
I suggest adding a Champagne recolor option for the french army in the mod. I saw there are several county and duchy represented like Bretagne or Normadie but the more powerful : Champagne. Look at this map from 1180 (I did not find one for 1212, but it's not very different, Philippe the II just added several county and duchy to the royal domain (in blue)).
All around the Royal Domain of France (in blue), in all tints of Yellow possible, is the County of Champagne ruled in 1212 by Count of Champagne Thibaud the IV, who'll become King of Navarre in 1234. It would be justice if someone could create a Champagne Army as I saw other county or duchy armies for the Kingdom of France. Count Thibaud of Champagne (or King Thibaud the I of Navarre) was the leader of the 1239 crusade with Richard of Cornwall (brother of the King of England).
Here are the arms of Champagne :
in 1234, the arms of Navarre became :

Looks amazing.
Awesome Work!!
Hello nice work about french kingdom.
I have some question for U about mercnaries.
Will Geanoans crosbowmens be abale to hire as factions mercenaries?
During Middle-age French kingdom use in most his battle a huge amount of mercenaries . For example in the azincourt battle genoan crosbowmens where used to face english longbowmens ( with little efficacity) before heavy cavalry charge .
Same for "great companies"?
During war of the 100 years mercnaries called "great company" were used by king Phillippe 2 Auguste will you add 1 or 2 faction mercenarys units like longbowmens mercenarys ( histories book talk about mass amount of gaellish archer who fought for kingdom of france) and spearmens or infantry ?
If u want i can launch a research tread for mercenarys i have few ideas for france and italian kingdoms and if i work a little on it i can give u ideas , but it's impossible for me to creat them my modding skill are zero.
Sorry for my english it's not my native language.
