Need help

i just bought the game and im kinda dissapointed but anyways, i need to ask a few questions.

1) how do i unlock factions?
2) when i used a spy to check enemy settlements, i saw the video, later on , no videos were popping up? is it because i clicked "ont show this movie type again"?

The MTW2 FAQs on this forum are located in the section just above this one when you open the MTW2 section. It took my wife all of 3 mins to change the turns per year, the counter to read years instead of turns, and to unlock all factions.

As far as "undoing" the video option, a computer person can probably tell you exactly what line to alter. Since I am not, if I needed to do that, I would reload the game.

Open the MTW2 section and it is the 6th listing down the page. A few above the one you opened to make this post.

There is an option in the ingame options menu to reset videos.

thanks. anyways i tried unlocking factions by going to descr stat and copying pasting to playable. when i want to save, it says i cant edit it.

i tried reinstalling the game for the videos.. still doesnt work. anyways where is this ingame option so i can reset the videos.

It is because the file is set to "Read only". Just right-click the descr-strat and select properties. Then uncheck the "Read-only" box. Then it should work for you.

I can't help you with the videos though.

EDIT: I found the solution for the videos. Just open the preference text and look under 'video'. Then you should see a line that says infiltration_movies. If there is a '0' after the line, then they are turned off. So just delete the '0' and out a '1' in it's place and it should work.

You can get the videos back by unchecking the box in the tooltip that lets you know whether your agent (assassin or spy) was successful or not in his mission.
