Roman Marian reform technology

Hi, I'm at Imperium 5 turn 230 and I was just wondering what technology is needed to unlock the reforms.

But I have already researched that for the Polybian reform, will I need to research it again or should it already activate?

You dont need to research it more than once. Are you sure that you reached the requirements for the reform? I think you need imperium 7?
Try and look in the scriptorium thread under reforms.

You hit the Marian reform at turn 100 Imperium 5 and Imperial reforms at Imperium 7. The global reforms can happen but if you dont have the right Imperium level they wont trigger for you

Yes, just to be clear - the purple upgrade technology is just something that enables the upgrade system, but the reforms are not actually tied to any technology. They're tied to turn number and imperium level.

The first advisor message you get in game is about the upgrade tech.

I usually disable all advice, and often don't read the intro message. My fault, I know. Still, it'd be cool if the tech description made it clearer that it was not itself leading to anything, and that the reform could take place well into the future.

Almost every major overhaul mod from EB to DeI has used the advisor messages for script related information. It isn't too difficult to just leave the messages on and have them as text only.
