    Default Problem modifying land_units table...

    Hell everyone,
    I am having difficulty modifying the land_units table!
    Each time I make any changes my game crashes at start up.
    I am using PFM 3.5.1. I have modified other tables with success: building_effects_junction and main_units tables.
    However, each time I make any changes in land_units, even if I just change one single entry under campaign_action_points from 2880 to 3240 (both values already exist in the table), the game won't start.
    It also doesn't allow me to change any other value, such as charge_bonus, melee_attack...etc.
    Any ideas?

    Same here after last update, any change in land_units table cause crash even if other tables are vanilla.

    I have the same problem, are you using PFM to make the changes?

    yes, PFM.
    As I said, it worked fine for some tables, but not the land unit table.

    Seems PFM needs some schema updates I think. It works if you mod it with the assembly kit!

    Looks like you guys beat me to the general community warning, but yes, all land unit mods are broken for the time being if they were made with PFM. The current fix: Fix the schema, or remake it in the assembly kit.

    I do not like the Assembly kit personally. It saves far too many irrelevant files whenever you make a mod, crashes often.

    Yea, took a while to figure out how to work with it, PFM is so much better when it comes to these edits. Never seen such a clunky tool (2 tools required to do the same as with PFM).

    Anyway, I followed this tutorial to get my mod to work

    Yeah, the assembly kit (DAVE in particular) is perhaps best used for its search functionality and more detailed descriptions of variables, so you can find exactly which lines you need when you're doing the work in PFM.

    Just tried the Attila TW Assembly kit...took couple of trials before I got it right. The game lauched and the campaign started without a crash.
    I do agree, PFM is much user friendly. I do see the usefulness of the assembly kit though, maybe not for the small stats changes I usually do.

    New hotfix, does not remove the offending characters from the database, just checked and confirmed.

    I was having the same problem I have (Attila TW Charlemagne Campaign Pack) installed and could not modify "land_units_tables / land_units" always crashed when starting the game. I saw your post, and tried to check the version of PFM (3.5.0), I saw that it was outdated and then downloaded the latest version 3.5.2 and tried to do the job again, only edited a table row "land_units >> cha_fra_scola_knights >> changed the [training_level column]" and saved the mod. Start the game by the "Attila Mod Manager" and got success when loading a saved game. I have not tried editing other rows and columns of the same table "land_units" and also did not modify the table "main_units" or changing the amount of crew on ships (rounding of numbers >> example: from 88 to 90) but, I believe can function. So I think at first, that the solution is to download the latest version of the application. Not hurt to experiment. I hope this helps. Hugs

    What are you doing in here? I thought this was my forum now?? I've had it all to myself for the entire week!

    On a more serious note, I've had no problems modifying land_units, and I'm using the same version of PFM that I downloaded around a year ago. I'm not sure what the version is as I'm not on my gaming PC at the moment. That said I never modified AoC, only the main campaign.
