Default How to build skirmisher camps and shrine to the muses as Athens? Also big Syracuse and big Galatia

i've srsly googled the hell out of this. how do i build this:

    https://dsi0fanyw80ls.cloudfront.net...om_Hellenistic

has it been removed for this mod? if so good. if not, is it under a different build tree?

also how do i build this,

    https://dsi0fanyw80ls.cloudfront.net...om_Hellenistic

as Athens, is it for minor settlements only? i can build the other stuff - like the running man symbol building (the one that uses food but increases opinion), you know, this one:

    https://dsi0fanyw80ls.cloudfront.net...om_Hellenistic

are the build trees changed alot in DEI? if so, is there anywhere i can read about it? honga.net says i shoul be able to build skirmisher camps.

ALSO in your campaigns, does Syracuse and Galatia go all ISIS and beat the crap out of everyone? In 4 campaigns, Syracuse conquered all of Carthage and Galatia was the new Seleucis empire. Also Bactria conqered all of Iran? Just lucky?

Sorry for my bad syntax etc, i'm typing with my left hand and my wife has fallen asleep on my right arm. it would be cute if it wasnt for the fact i am in a loveless marriage that i cant get out of. thsnks for any help

I do not believe either the skirmisher camp chain or the shrine to the muse building are available in DeI. Honga was updated in August so here is the link to Athenai's building tree in DeI.

    http://www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/...i&f=rom_athens

I have seen Galatia and Syracuse become regional powers many times as well. Syracuse tends to run into the same issues Carthage experiences with the inability to protect multiple fronts after they take over Carthage's holdings. I usually see Galatia or Pontus dominate Asia Minor as they fill the power vaccum left by the crumbling Selucids.

With the addition of the Mauryan faction, I see Baktria expand less than previous, when they would go on a tear, subjugating successive Selucid satrapies in the east. Now I tend to see the Mauryans as the power in the east who crush the Selucids. Baktria tends to consolidate Chorasmia and then conduct protracted wars with the Saka.

    Hope it helps.

this defo helps thanks. rep sir.

can i trust this updated Honga link? everything seems in order. i was wondering whether i could also ask you can i build Piraeus as Athens after building a trade or fish port? its a level 5 building. Is it better to build a military port or a docks and then building Piraeus? Do the units available change? I cant seem to get that 200 man unit - the Athenian marines one, i can get the 160 man units (from here http://www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/...food_Piraeus_5)

Also, the Hippy Lancers unit disappears after the last reform (thorax i think) as a possible general unit and as a recruitable unit - is that WAD? The only thing i have left fot heavy cav after the reform is Athenian hippies and they are pretty lightweight.

Also, peltasts, normal peltasts, seem to fight forever, i've managed to get them up to gold experience (compared to a single silver for my other units) - i saw my 2 silver experience peltast duke it out with 3 vet legionnaires and last for ages before i flanked the legionnaires. My other units behaved as i would expect. Is this WAD - are the stats for the peltasts ok? I'm thinking of using 8 units of peltasts as my front line instead of hoplites. Is there i a test i can do for you guys to help you test this in custom battles? Maybe i got lucky? Athens doesnt get Royal Peltasts, these were defo normal peltasts.

    thanks

Actually it's dated last month on the website. "Divide et Impera (Divide & Conquer) - v1.05e, updated Aug 20, 2015"
I was surprised as well when I saw it had been updated.

Normal peltasts are pretty absurdly well statted units. They have the armour, melee defence, and offensive stats of good quality heavy infantry.

In 1.1, with the reduction overall of armour and combat changes they won't be quite as beefy, but they are still solid melee units. The price has also gone up on them significantly to reflect their much better quality.

I find Peltastai aren't worth keeping in the line, as most cavalry units will ride straight through them. They are incredibly effective flanking units though.

The 200 man unit is a land unit recruit able from any province that has a tier 4 military wharf or shipright.

The Piraeus is a unique building that has a global limit of one. I built the equivalent in my capitol for my playthrough as Massalia which is the only time I've used it. Just go with whatever port building fits your requirements. By the time you have researched high enough to unlock the Piraeus, you should have redundancy in other ports, allowing you to build it where you like.
