    Default Warwagons

I heard some talk about warwagons in the game. But I haven't seen any of them. do they exist? if so, who has them?

They have been removed for some reason.

Probably weren't working correctly. I have a feeling we'll see them in the expansion.

Using the create_unit cheat will actually get you a unit called gulay gorod (aka russian war wagons), but unfortunately they just seem to be a crossbow unit, albeit with rather nice stats and an insanely high recruitment cost (1250 florins).

The unit card says they have wagons to fire from in relative safety(or something like that) though... i guess the must've never finished it or something.

The unit description is still up at the IGN Russian faction preview too...

They were probably too busy finishing up those cannonphants

Coding up elephants with cannons on their backs is pretty easy - they already had the code for elephant-mounted archers in Rome, which should work for elephant-mounted cannons with only minimal modifications.

On the other hand, coding and animating a war wagon is much more complex. It would look pretty ridiculous in Total War game if you just had your melee units hacking away at the wagon like in Age of Empires.

I've seen something like the Sicilian Standard - which I haven't loaded up any custom battles to check out yet, but maybe that's what you're talking about.

Don't know what good they do, as I've pwnd them both times they've shown up in battle.

    Anyway, they look like wagons.

The Sicillian standard gives the units surrounding it a huge morale boost.
