Some updates maybe ?
Some updates maybe ?
If you ever implement a cicek helmet, there is an OSP from mount and blade made by someone called Nemerius. You could ask him if you could use it; it's a very high quality model and it will look very nice for the early Ottoman units (perhaps sipahi). If it does look too late, it could be altered some way I suppose.

The visor, cheek guards, and back plate are very 16th century additions. Sorry, but I'll be making the majority of the chichak stuff.
We want some Heavy Stuff for the Ottomans

Doesn't mean their units won't have some love though. They should get some love.
That's the reason people asking for Ottoman heavy units in Seljuk thread. You wrote it yourself. But yeah, that's the plan.
The armor looks rather...Principate Roman? Especially that segmented manica vambrace. Isn't Turkish Krug armor is more Plated Mail rather than Laminar like Segmentata?

I can't speak for Ltd. and dontfearme, but it was my understanding that all of our later tier units will be inspired by the successors of our factions, which includes the Ottomans for the Seljuks, Mamluks for Ayyubids, Timurids for Ilkhanate and Turkoman dynasties for the Khwarazmians (in my case). These factions would then be adequately represented as such.
Ottomans didn't even have a reguler army when had they gained their independence. It is funny to hear someone asking for heavy stuff for Ottomans on the Seljuk thread. So I guess it'd be better to ask for Seljuks to have what Ottomans had in their armies in their rise for late era in this thread and allow modders to handle the unplayable emergent factions later on.
Obviously, Seljuk late era units will be based on the Ottoman units![]()

Exactly.
Even if not playable, Ottoman units would be guaranteed in the mod, in some form or another, as Late Medieval-era Turkish units.
It would be too good to pass out on the Attack Mehter March
Just a little bit annoying... No offense![]()
That one is always awesome![]()

@Nebaki
But you know that this music isnīt traditional turkish, yes? Itīs more like 19/20th century central-european music and partially contains pieces like the British/old German Empire- national anthem. (0:55)

Most of those "Mehter" was made after the fall of the Ottoman Empire so we cannot use something that is not really representing the Ottoman Music Band - They donīt speak or sing in Turkish, Ottoman language was a Mix of Turkish-Persian-Arabic which we cannot understand today.
They actually sing Turkish because when European band was adopted they disposed all lyrics and musical records of Mehter. Near the end of the Empire, The Young Turks' goverment adopted Mehter in order to motivate the people against the enemy. However they didn't have anything left of Mehter so they wrote them again the way folk could understand, which was pure Turkish.
dAll of the songs shared in this thread are late period pieces and sound out of place to be honest, maybe they wouldn't stand out if this mod was based on Empire Total War. Most of the Mehteran pieces (including famous "Attack March") were composed in the 20th century unfortunately, the original marching band (along with most of their marches) disappeared following the abolition of the Janissary corps, what we hear today is 20th century compositions.
As for Ottoman classical/court music (such as this one), it was developed in the late period too. The origin of Ottoman classical music dates to the 15th century, the Ottomans put an end to Eastern Roman Empire and adopted their music.
Ottoman and Byzantine classical/court music for comparison

The traditional Turkish (folk) music is centered around "bağlama", an instrument related to qopuz. Here is what it sounds like:

I don't think any of these folk music examples above can be used in the game though (be it campaign or battle).
I strongly recommend Hossein Alizadeh's (an Iranian Azeri) pieces for campaign soundtracks, some of his pieces were also used by Broken Crescent team.
For example, this song is famous among Turks, Azerbaijanis, Georgians, Armenians and Persians (each has different versions). It fits the atmosphere of the mod.
This one is a mix of Azerbaijani, Persian and Armenian.

Many pieces from this album can be used in eastern islamic factions IMO.
such as Ruh-ol Arvah, Arezu, Showq-e Yosef, Anduh.

Another example from MedievalTW 1. Although labelled as "Arab Battle theme" it is mostly based on the Turkish instrument and rhythms.

"Ottoman Turkish" was the language of the court and used in literature and official papers, common Turks never spoke it. They spoke "kaba Türkįe" (vulgar Turkish - basically the basis of modern Turkish language), which had far fewer foreign loanwords.
