Default New guy wanting some info

Hey, so I've been having a Roman/Ancient Era Itch as of late and I need to scratch it really badly! But I heard this mod is still missing a lot of stuff and not optimized and whatnot.

I wanted to play as Rome, but I know they barelly have anything, so what other factions are good to play with at this stage? I was thinking of trying to go with the Lusotannan since they were my ancestors. But I'm not sure. Anyway, any recomendations are welcomed.

The Lusitani and Arevaci are both pretty good choices, since they both have fairly fleshed out unit rosters. Carthage and Pritanoi are also good choices.

Check it out - its far from finished but is wonderfully polished and well balanced.

Also you will be able to say you were here at the start.

Missing lots of units, and not a complete set of factions, but the optimisation side of things is well along. Especially compared to where it was with the last full release, 2.01.

If you're really looking to play as Rome, there's an update that will be coming out in the next couple months (I know, I know - it'll be ready when it's ready ) that will supposedly have a completed set of Polybian units.

    I'm so excited!

The mod is still worth playing, it's in really good shape. And it will take you 100 turns to go from the Camillian to Polybian units as Rome. I'm still playing on 2.04a but I've got a roman campaign at turn ~350 now. I'm really enjoying it.

Wow, there's a lot that's changed for the Romans even between 2.04a and 2.04e.

That's great to hear... I just feel like I don't have enough time in the day to play EB2 as well as live life. Even if I spend 2 hours a day playing, I feel like I barely get into a campaign before a new update is out. Which is great because you team members are obviously very diligently improving the mod but I'm always a few versions behind because I want to get more than just the first 50 turns done before starting a new campaign on a new version... Just a fact of life for me right now....
