Why on the Late Campaign of Stainless Steel 6.4 Constantinople and Thessalonica are not part of the "Crusader States" faction ? The Latin Empire of Constantinople was a crusader state , and they weren't Greek Rebels.

I modded the game to make the Latin Empire territories part of France. That produced a much more interesting campaign! Playing as the Byzantines, the Latin Empire is now actually a serious threat.
I borrowed the idea from the original Medieval: Total War (2002), in which the Crusader states were part of France.
Did you remove fow to see how france managed in western europe? I gave most of germany to sicily in my game to play as austria, but they neglected their italian lands. It might be because they moved their capital to innsbruk. Did france move their capital?
I seem to remember France was fine, I don't think they suffered any adverse effects. They didn't get destroyed by Germany or England.
I may have tweaked their King's purse slightly to allow them a bit more income, if I remember rightly. It wasn't a huge change, but I realised that the Latin Empire stacks would be quite expensive for them. So I made those armies slightly smaller to reduce the cost a bit, then added kings purse income so that on balance, the new provinces would neither add nor subtract from France's income.
Was that a thing? It's been so long since I played MTW1 that I barely remember any of it.I borrowed the idea from the original Medieval: Total War (2002), in which the Crusader states were part of France.
Side question: Is it possible to get MTW1 running on Windows 8 or 10?
