    Default Garrison at Start

    So whenever I start a new campaign with any factions, the garrison of all settlements starts at around 25%. I think it is scripted in lua, but i cannot find anything that performs this function. I also went through db and tables and cannot find anything. Does anyone know where I can edit this?

    This is done in the startpos. If you make a mod editing garrison sizes, you have to do your changes in the startpos as well, or the garrisons will have to regenerate on the first turn. I haven't done this for my building mod yet, as I've been holding off on doing heavy startpos changes for now.

    But when I check the startpos the garrison strength is at 100%.
    Here's the path I used "compress_data/campaign_env/campaign_model/world/faction_array/(faction array number)/faction/army_array". Also it seems that ai has all of its garrison at 100%.

    But are you using a mod that changes garrison sizes? If that mod doesn't change the sizes in the startpos as well as the db, the garrisons won't start at full strength.

    Which factions have you noticed this with, by the way?

    I am using Radious Total War mod (not the unit mod) but I also tested without using any mods. It seems to happen with all the settled non-barbarian factions. I tested the Western Roman Empire, Eastern Roman Empire and Sassinids. I thought this is something intentional done by the game to give the player more of a challenge.

    That might be the case then. I know that the Romans have some under-strength armies at the start, presumably for that reason.

    So is this hard-coded by the game or it can be changed somewhere in the files?

    I imagine you should be able to change it in the startpos, but I don't know why it's showing that all the armies are at 100%.

    I just looked at the startpos file...how can you find which army is located where?
    It's quite complex!
