Yes, I know the topic has been done before, and yes I know the answer is most likely 'no', and I'm fine with that. And I know if it ever does come true it won't be in the next release. But I was wondering if we can still toss some ideas around.
What if, princesses were just something some factions have when played by the human but never the AI, so that the only princesses on the map would be ones that belong to the player? It would prevent princesses from marrying into other factions family trees because there would only be one faction that uses princesses, at most. 2nd, would greatly decreasing the odds of princesses abilities to steal other factions generals be possible, so that even at maximum charm the princess would have next to nil chance of succeeding at seduction of other factions generals? If only the human player has princesses than the human player would know not to use them that way, and if the AI can't have them than there won't be an AI constantly trying and failing at seducing generals. So if those two things are possible, the only game-play use for princesses would be marrying unmarried generals in your own faction, and bringing in new generals from suitors who aren't in the game yet. And, I forget, don't princesses also act as diplomats when interacting with factions who have no unmarried heirs?
But role-play wise it could be pretty cool, its really the reason why I'm making this thread, is that the idea of female characters on the map that have traits and ancillaries and family names just seems like a cool look into the other gender of historic populations, it would be neat seeing the historical information. And don't they have the ability to give traits to their husbands and children based on their traits? Adds some depth to marriage in the game.
