A new exciting project that I'm embarking on is to recreate the Rome 2 alpha screenshots. Expect to see a few coming up soon.

Nice Triumph, But would be even more awesome if you have those fireballs rolling down on the romans!. Don't know if Atilla got those ballz if not then they are a must for AE.

EDIT: And i finally got the time and finished my PC so now i finally can install Atilla and start mapping.

    Comment and question about diplomacy:

I have been playing some of Attila recently, and have remembered one of my least-favorite features of the game, namely the tendency of the game to devolve into solid alliance blocs from which there is very little deviation. This is especially the case when numerous small factions gang up on a larger one - for example, the Caledonian/Ebdanian/Pictish/Romano-British/Frankish/Jutish/Gallic/Alamani/Suebic/Hispanic/Burgundian/Thuringian alliance that regularly forms to attack the Roman Empire. The "War with X" bonus to diplomacy is so overwhelmingly powerful that after a few turns these nations are completely incapable of fighting each other, even though they are in many ways competing to conquer the same territory from Rome. Even when massive bribes to untrustworthy faction leaders cause (for example) the Britons to turn on the Caledonians, the two neighboring factions completely ignore each other in favor of fighting the Romans and maintain a +300 diplomacy score with each other. Furthermore, the "Military Actions Against X" penalty from fighting so many co-belligerents ensures that Ceasefires can almost never occur, resulting in an endless two-sided war that renders the entire diplomacy system virtually worthless. This is a shame, because historically one of Rome's great strengths was their ability to play on divisions between enemies and drive them against each other to Rome's advantage.

Will Ancient Empires be able to avoid this trap? For example, under the current Attila system Caesar's wars in Gaul would have resulted in a solid block of Gallic allies fighting against Rome indefinitely, rather than the shifting system of alliances and betrayals that actually occurred. Is there any way to make the diplomacy system more flexible - perhaps add a "rivalry" variable in successful alliance relationships to offset the massive bonuses of "War Against X"?

Attila should has those fireballs. The only problem is that it's a bit difficult to control and take great screenshots because the AI just charges at you before even waiting for a perfect ambush?

What do you mean by mapping?

@Petellius, what do you mean by this?

Don't mind answering it here. It's tough to say how something will play out at this point. Our campaign development is still in its early stages. That will be revealed through testing, though I'd doubt we'd see the same sort of mechanics as in Attila's Grand Campaign given everything from factions to religions and the diplomatic set-up will be new.

Sweet thanks for the reply! Can't wait to see how the campaign mechanics develop.
