How to make the Papel Love you

Any time I get a Crusade against me or they tell me that I'll be excommunicated from the Church I just open up convo with them and gift them 7000 florians. If you are currently excommunited, don't forget to ask to reconcile with them. They will immediately call off the Crusade against you and you should have or almost have full cross's with them. Works every time, the first thing I do now when I play is put a diplomat right out the gates of the papel at all times. I guess what I'm doing would be considered blood money but the papel doesn't seem to mind.

building cathedrals and better is a good way of restoring papal reputation too

So far for me, I've stayed on good terms with the Pope. I only attack when the victim is excommunicated, and I build lots of churches and have a lot of priests running about.

At first i thought that sacking was bad. But then, i sacked Jerusalem and got 45K of it. Then i started sacking every big city, or executing when i was dealing with another religion.

The sack of Rome, as Egypt, was so glorious. xD

If you play without cheats (and you should), then sacking is really like your only option to make good money, i usually go on a sacking spree....specially with big cities.

if its a huge city execute everyone. small cities and castles sack it. you dont want to deal with a big population later on. Seeing a blue face because of huge population pisses me off

what i did to improve relations with pope
1st i payed a bit of a tribute, then allied with them. That gave me the maximum with the pope.
After when relations worsened i was the 1st to build the cathedral and that gave me maximum again.

I just build churches, cathedrals, etc. to please the Pope. I also give them tributes whenever I can.

Never sacked a city, and I never bribed the pope, but I have the pope and 9 cardinals now with almost always full stars. Just make a lot of priests, keep your territories over 90% at least of catholicism, go on every crusade, build cathedrals, etc. etc.

Only one time I was excommunicated, but I had six cardinals and the next turn the pope died, I got spain cardinal elected as pope, and BAM full stars with pope.

Naw it's not Klingon, sorry to disapoint. It actually comes from a nickname I was given in the Military; "Acknowledge". I'll have to try the church thing, see the problem is it's cheaper for me to give them 7K florians every 30 to 50 turns or until I do something bad, rather than build up my churchs. I started doing what you said about all the Priests and Churchs. Now it's even cheaper to get back in thier good graces. All good comments, thank you.
