Yeah that's pretty much it yeah. Being an independent Greek right now is a bit tough. We'll likely add some starting armies over there to give you a chance.
Vespasian's own: Up the Augusta! For Cato!
AE: Battle Balancing and BAI.
Athens and Sparta combined have more strength than Macedon, and Macedon would take two turns to reach Sparta at a minimum. While some rebalancing needs to be done, it's mainly for the AI. If you are a human player and can't hack it as Sparta with Athens and Epirus as an ally, I have to say that's on you.
Didn't that happen in history though? One of the Philips of Macedon beat Athens into the dust i believe
Scratch that, I sent my general to Pella with as many mercs as possible. The stack of Macedonians near Sparta left and crushed my decoy army but I got in as many kills as I could so hopefully someone could take them out and what do you know next turn Pella is under the rule of Athens =]
Now objective is to take Athens so gonna take other cities along west coast til I have enough for a second stack.
After that, it's campaign as normal.
Just a quick question, is Sparta under the same rules as Rome 2 when it comes to having no trade option from Sparta itself? basically being forced to take Athens?
Do you mean Sparta in R2 compared to Attila? In Attila AE's time period, Sparta is part of the Achaean league faction, as is Athens
