Default Why aren't units depicted accurately?

I was reading some more history like the EBII user agreement instructed, and I learned that almost all of the units for Carthage, KH, Ptolemaioi, Rome, and all Celtic factions are inaccurate.

According to this well sourced site http://realhistoryww.com/world_histo...truscans_2.htm, the Phoenicians were actually black people. Hence, Carthaginian units should all have dark skin. After all, Carthage is in Africa, isn't it? Thus Hannibal would look like this:

The same source indicates that the original European peoples were black people. The Gauls, and the Arverni in particular, are identified as an "original black civilization". Celtic units in EBII should re-made with dark skin in the interest of historical accuracy.

The Romans were a mix of people, but mostly black, and most of the emperors were black. Emperor Augustus in particular is identified as a black man.

We also know that the ancient and classical Greeks were black. http://clyde.winters.tripod.com/chapter6.html and http://www.beforebc.de/all_europe/70...ean/index.html, as well as the above article discuss the fact that the Greeks were black. For a mod that prides itself on authenticity, it's really disappointing to see that the Hellenic factions are portrayed as White or Mediterranean people. All of the Hellenic units should be redone with dark skin.

I know you guys put in a lot of work making the models, but they're all going to need to be redone if you want the mod to be realistic.

Hannibal was a full-blooded Punic citizen of Carthage with a prestigious Phoenician bloodline, so no, most likely not. There is no evidence to suggest he was even ethnically mixed with Libyans, Numidians, or Mauritanians. Such a thing would not have been unnoticed by historians of the day and certainly not by the rather xenophobic Carthaginians themselves, who looked down on their Libyan subjects and others found throughout their holdings and colonies in Africa. Although the Mauritanians were legitimately dark-skinned, the Carthaginians also viewed sub-Saharan black skin in general as completely exotic, as demonstrated with the exploratory voyages of Hanno the Navigator down the western coast of the African continent (killing some of the natives who attacked them and skinning them to bring back their hides as trophies from afar).

This is one of the really hilarious posts. And since I opened the spoiler first before even reading, I never fell into the trap. Well done.

Here's some more well-sourced information about the Iberians, "Pitcs" and Celts. http://www.africaresource.com/rasta/...clyde-winters/

I guess the Pritanoi and Iberian factions need to be redone too. You can save some time by using the Numidian faces when you remake the units.

Many of those same people, when confronted with the fact that she was of Macedonian royal blood going back to her ancestor that was a trusted general of Alexander the Great, will then claim that this doesn't matter, because Macedonians and Greeks were black too.

Black Hannibal seems to have one eyebrow that's a lot bushier than the other.
