    Yeah mate, sometimes its kinda messy to scroll down when all the pics start loading altogether. Just an idea. You're doing great work with this mod, I've been lurking for a while and you got some pretty sick scripts, keep it up Miguel_80!

    Good to see some "movement" again in this mod! The Crusades' period deserved a most complete campaign since Kingdoms was first released. Don't forget that if you need help with the boring work of translating stuff into English, I can help.

    What mod?

    I create Tierra Santa TW mod in 2009, and I don't see similar mod of crusades or similar years in all time.

    There are many mods which cover the same period and area of the Crusades.

    There is:

    Broken Crescent
    Tierra Santa
    Wars of the Religion
    In Nomine Dei
    Terra Sancta

    Well, there are differences between the mods. In fact, and just to clear things out:
    - 1) Terra Sancta is abandoned and never had a release. Its leader was/is part of the Bellum Crucis mod and some of the - beautiful - units projected for Terra Sancta may now be found in Bellum Crucis.
    - 2) Wars of the Religions is a mod just freshly started by karaislam.
    - 3) In Nomine Dei is definetely the closest indeed to Tierra Sancta in terms of geographical and chronological scope and in its intentions. The thing is, albeit with a release, it is (still) far from completed and from its creator's early objectives. Neadal, the creator of In Nomine Dei, announced his retirement from modding. The project is - presumably - being picked up by another modder, ForGondor 68.
    - 4) Broken Crescent is of course the most known and well-developed of these mods. But its scope, both geographically and chronologically, is very different from Tierra Sancta, as well as its objectives and ideas. It's a different mod, period. And it's one of the greatest, and an awesome one!
    - 5) Tierra Sancta has its own scope and objectives. Like I said, quite similar to In Nomine Dei, perhaps, but with (I hope) the grand differences in terms of its map, and, most of all, in its completion and atmosphere, with new scripts, buildings, events and eventually stuff like traits and ancillaries (didn't ask Werety yet if he plans to implement something new regarding these last two, though) - that's why I'm lending a hand to Werety and Miguel_80 with translating the mod into English.

    Its sad, many abandoned mods...


    The Broken Crescent is a big inspiration, and a very good mod , but is different, the timing and map is bigger than Tierra Santa, Tierra Santa pretend to be a "M2TW Kingdoms: Crusades 2", new factions, new units (full limits of units actually), new events and new buildings (200 new for the moment), not is a total conversion, is a simple mod based in holy land and crusades based in the vanilla esthetic. The player know the mechanics of the mod without major graphical changes, we take what serves the original game as much as possible.

    A few of pics of my Abbasid Test campaign. (is in spanish for the moment)

    NOTE: All of you see is WIP (Work in Progress) final result maybe is totally diferent.

    Inital position at the first turn...



    Rebels are very powerful and dangerous, your armies are big and can create new troops in the settlements. (My faction leader crushing defeat in this siege)



    Meanwhile the crusaders arrive to Holy Land and preapre for war...



    (Yes is a purple ui, I work to fix this)
    Alashtar rebels crush 2 of my armies in the siege, finally I created a mercenary army of Iranian Levies, Akinjis, Harafisha and Persian Archers and attack with other army, finally Alashtar rebels defeat but my family member and captain dead in battle.

    Very good! Translation is moving on in the unit descriptions too . And yeah, the way I see Tierra Sancta is also as a much improved version of the original Crusades campaign which is part of vanilla M2 Kingdoms. In fact, I see it as the Crusades campaign as it should have been from the start. Broken Crescent and other mods are a different thing.

    Exactly, I think is not a necessary total conversion for make a good mod, many things in vanilla games are useful and valuable.

    Dhimma for non-islamic regions and zakat for islamic? Held by a muslim faction I mean. Would be interesting to see how you implement that, that is if you plan it.

    Its complicated use some special bonus in EDB, many capabilites don't work in M2Tw but works fine in RTW, I prepare a special building to represent the slavery and construction bonus for middle eastern factions, and a special building to "general taxes" and different bonuses.
