More factions for M2TW
Alright, I posted this before in the wrong section. Retard me. Anyway, I started working on this mod a few days ago, and I don't think it'll be an incredibly difficult mod to make, but it will take a long time and I will need someone who has worked on something like this before. This mod aims to add several more factions to Medieval 2, since I never really liked how the rebel faction takes up about 8/10ths of the campaign map, and that there were many, many more kingdoms and duchies in this era. So here is a list of ideas for new factions I hope to add:
Kingdom of Powys (Wales)
Principality of Antioch
Kingdom of Jerusalem
Duchy of Kiev
If anyone else has anymore ideas for some more factions send me a PM or just reply to this thread. But I really just need people who are seasoned in creating mods, and in particular creating factions, since I always run into some unknown problem when creating a faction. And in addition to adding factions, I think the campaign should actually start in 1100 so that there is some more historical accuracy, since the Crusader states weren't founded until 1098 and 1099. I also know that Stainless Steel adds several of these factions, but I have never successfully installed Stainless Steel. Usually it's because the download mirror wouldn't work or the download wouldn't start. But this mod wouldn't be too difficult to download. From what I can tell, all it would take to create the mod is editing some of the documents in the imperial campaign folder (descr_strat, names.txt, etc.). But I can't say for sure since I've never created anything like this before. I just speak from what I've read on here about creating factions.

Re: More factions for M2TW
There are several existing mods that have already added those factions and more, such as Dave Scarface's Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod. Its description:
"A modification that adds every single new unit from Kingdoms into the Grand Campaign onto a truly epic map. The campaign is 2 turns per year from 1180 AD to 1500 AD. Also adding the Kingdom of Jerusalem and Antioch to the Holy lands, Teutonic Order and Lithuania to the Baltic, Ireland, Wales and Norway added to British Isles. KGCM also supports Multiplayer Campaigns."
I'm sure there's others as well, including Stainless Steel, which you have mentioned.
If you still want to create your own version, go for it. I can tell you that it would not be as simple as editing the imperial campaign folder, as you'll have to also edit EDU and probably EDB as well. That aside, it's not too difficult if you follow the tutorials in the Mod Workshop. I successfully added factions to my mod after working through Gigantus' tutorial:

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. And for letting me know about the Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod.
