    Default Formation attack

How does it affect gameplay (apart from having your men stay in formation). I mean, does it really impact the result of the battle? Does it make your unit more
or less effective in any way. Also, how does it work for cavalry? I don't notice any visual difference but does it affect their stats or something?

In Rome 2, turning off formation attack actually gives an advantage to the player in some cases (because the AI never turns it off). I am not sure about Attila.

    IIRC

Turning off formation attack enables your men to wrap around the enemy units flanks if your lines are longer, instead of them staying in a rigid formation, as the name "formation attack" implies.
