    Default knights templar (need help)

I have been playing with the French, went on two succesful crusades, and both my generals recived retuines of "knights templar" and knights hospitilar"
and i was on very good relations with pope. i recived several offers from knights hospitilar but have yet to be offered from knights templar. is there something specific you gotta do to get an offer from templars???????

I'd assume that Scotland gets templar a lot quicker because of their historic contribution to the Templar. So in a way they love the scotts. - they also liked the french and english so I dont understand why you haven't had them speak to you.

Are any of your Templar Favoured generals ruling a province? cause that could be a definer in where they choose to settle.

I have a General with a Hospitaller Knight, a Templar Knight and some guy whose name I can't remember, but his description says he's the Grandmaster of the Templar order or like a high ranking general in it. Still nothing.

Lol! A grand master and he doesn't commission a frigging guild? That is really screwed. You'd think he'd want to expand the guild now wouldn't you.

As far as i can tell the offers are totally random or are tied with the number of kills in the campaign. I have played many campaigns to realize relations with the pope or the crusades dont have any noticable effect. Cant really say about Teutonics or Santiago though.

I had the Templars in my Poland campaign at turn 3
You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.

The Teutonic Order popped up in Frankfurt in my HRE campaign and just recently a Guild opened up in Settin also. I wouldn't know either.

If you read the Descr_regions, you can see there is a hidden resource tied to the knights guilds, maybe you don't have a province that is required to have a guildhouse for the Templar...

Got the templars when I was Scotland and Sicily. Got the hospitalers when I played as Sicily, Denmark and another one (I forgot)... don't know what triggered them... first I thought crusades in the east (probablly was the case with sicily), but still don't know what triggered it when I played Scotland (I only attacked England).

Teutonic Order you get easily when playing HRE.

I got them pretty early in Poland too. I believe Templar offers are tied to converting Pagans (Or maybe anybody) to Catholicism. I believe Hopistalliers are tied with crusades and the middle east.

If you look at the stats and traits of the 2 orders the Hospitaler knights are the superior I think. The templar will charge with out orders and I dont' like the impudance of units like that. But the Hospitaler have the same attack and defence stats but are more orderly when it comes to controling them, that and they look a little better along side my tutonic knights and imperal forces, you know it is realy important to color cordinate your armies. In fact that is the key to sucsess

There's nothing more fearsome than a color-coordinated uniform army.

I think Revan is right. The only time I have gotten Templars is when playing as Hungary, and I did very heavy conversions in my eastern provinces. Around turn 30 I was offered Templars after making 3 or 4 provinces go from 10% Catholic to upwards of 70% Catholic. Try it, I think that's the key for Templars.

so how many crusades(approximately) to Middle East do player have to do in order to get hospitaller? and does faction rep and leader dread rating affect it in any way?

Im currently on my 2nd crusade to Antioch in my Spain campaign, and I already taken the holy land in my 1st crusade (both were initiated by me...). Hopefully I can get hospitaller after the 2nd one..(hell, at least give me Knight of Santiago...)

A fortune teller once told Jack Bauer the following: "In the century 21st, you will be the savior of the world... seven seasons in a row." Moments later, Jack Bauer shot him in the kneecaps, and yelled "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?!"

Just wait in the holy land, while building horse stables and the like and you will be offered "chapter houses for knights hospitilar" almost everywhere.
Though, with the templars its....well completly random. I guess we gotta wait to find out what templars are tied too, maybe a resourse or something.

Playing as the french you'd expect an offer (from templars) pretty soon, since the french started it. Hmm although people playing as scotland get them very soon, maybe the templars hate the french for finishing them and love the scots for giving them a home LOL, but hey how do they know that since its like the 11th century
