It was the NATO campaign that overthrew Qaddafi and destroyed Libya. Now the whole area is roaming with various terrorist organizations. You messed it up, just like you did in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen etc etc

A nice article about how Al Qaeda in Yemen has become so powerful that its impossible to defeat it militarily. Americans, who bomb Yemen since 2002 are responsible for this. Either you recognize the reality of your defeat and move on or you continue the same counter-produuctive tactic

Well, the bombing campaign was essential for the overthrow of Gaddafi, since the Libyan Army was already in the outskirts of Benghazi, but nothing would have happened, hadn't a large part of the Libyan people risen against him. They were both necessary prerequisites and although I always the intervention of foreign powers in the internal affairs of another state (especially if the rebels are led by former officers of the government) as morally reprehensible, blaming only the West for the chaos of Libya is inaccurate and unjust. After all, we can't know for sure whether Libya and Northern Africa would have been in a better and more situation, if Gaddafi remained in power.

Gaddafi brought it on himself; Assad had both a more competent, though still disappointing, military apparatus, a recruiting pool of hard core fighters next door, and the Iranians, so his strategy was to let the insurgency exhaust itself.

Gaddafi destroyed throwing it into a civil war. The part the West failed at was not helping Libya re-build after.

The west shouldn't have been in Libya at all.

The UN wouldn't have intervened if Gaddafi wasn't ruthlessly murdering his own people. Gaddafi's own Tuareg mercenaries he paid for would end up returning to Mali and launching their own war there and then Al-Qaeda taking over the rebellion with France having to intervene.

There could have bene a peaceful transition, but nope.

Argentina is claiming the Maldives? Last time I checked, they were an independent country. Though perhaps they'd be better off being governed by Argentina and converted to its culture. Would get rid of one Islamist sanctuary, at least...

You made a new thread on a subject which you clearly don't know much about, judging from your gaff in the title. In any case, with the poor OP I'm not sure what you want us to discuss.

It's not an official ruling, just a recommendation from some obscure committee.

Yep, the UN hasn't ruled on anything here. So it's a bit of non news, unless Argentina was to say try and enforce it.

Analysts say that to prove that the new Argentinian government has sold out to the Americans, they needed to amplify some other populist issue.

Refrain your childish agressivity.Indeed, its a gaff, so what? the question is, Malvinas/Falklands belongs to Argentina or the UK? thats the question. Its a new development and deserves attention.

You can't know much more than I think you do if you seriously called them Maldivas. But in any case, even now you display your ignorance on the subject, since the ruling refers only to territorial waters, not the sovereignty of the islands themselves. Even though the report is irrelevant, you should at least know what it's irrelevant about - it's not disputing Britain's legitimate claim on the Falklands.

Like it or not, it's a new political development- as you can see: even a few weeks ago, Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, calling for Number 10 to open up “dialogue” with the Argentinians over the state of the Islands. And yes, it's somehow disputing Britain's claim on the Falklands.
Discussing the Falklands on Sunday, Mr Corbyn said: “There has to be a discussion about how we can bring about some reasonable accommodation with Argentina.

    Edit,
And don't say that the UN is a complete joke, because UK belongs to the Security Council.

What's there to discuss? Falkland Islanders have said they wish to stay with the UK. Nothing more to discuss.

The UN hasn't said anything in this situation, it's the recommendation of a commission. The UN itself has the position that it does not define such matters whilst there is territorial disputes.

Your third post and your third display of ignorance on the subject...the UN hasn't said anything about the Falklands being in Argentinian waters.

In any case, even if that commission was somehow correct (it's not) and if that mattered (it doesn't), that wouldn't change the sovereignty over the actual Falklands, which is British. I realize this is just some pet cause you have since I imagine it's tied to that other "disputed" claim in Gibraltar.

Since when does Argentina get to claim half the South Atlantic?

Also, nobody takes anything said by Jeremy Corbyn seriously.
