Naturally. To the totalitarian collectivist, ideas are too dangerous to be permitted. That is why the totalitarian collectivist mindset conflates ideas with actions.

I believe that is a quote falsely attributed to Stalin, first appearing in a 2001 book by US Senator Robert Torricelli.

A better quote to make your point is the below, taken from an almost 3 hour interview between HG Wells, yes that HG Wells the socialist author, and Stalin in 1934.

    http://www.rationalrevolution.net/sp...y/cc835_44.htm
Education is a weapon the effect of which be struck down. Of course, the proletariat, socialism, needs is determined by the hands which wield it, by who is to highly educated people. Clearly, simpletons cannot help the proletariat to fight for socialism, to build a new society. I do not underestimate the role of the intelligentsia; on the contrary, emphasize it. The question is, however, which intelligentsia are we discussing? Because there are different kinds of intelligentsia.
An abridged version of the translation can be read as

Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.

Aexodus should first clear out if he wants the government to eradicate FGM operations in government hospitals or not?

Aexodus, should the State "eradicate the idea" of FGM (i.e. use its authority to punish/prevent anyone who is in favor of it or thinks it should be permitted, not actually acts on that belief by performing an FGM, but just says, for example, the law should be changed)?

I love how you respond to Infidel144's framing of the question (which nobody really argued for) but continue to ignore the actual question. Do you want the government to eliminate FGM operations from hospitals? Or attempting to educate people to be against FGM? Or to take action against doctors that promote FGM operations? You want the state to keep employing doctors that promote FGM?

He’s got a gift for avoiding questions that change the black and white he prefers issues framed in to the grey complexity of practical existence. Idealists rarely have a talent for utility. Why the mediocre often use ideals as an excuse to avoid dealing with the gritty reality of making the world.

We could go on all day about iffy stimulus payments and loan schemes.

How about that $1200 cheque personally signed by Trump?

Stimulus payment received by ordinary person who rents -> Gives cheque to landlord for rent -> Landlord gives cheque to bank as a mortgage payments = Bank win.

    Or...

Stimulus payment received by ordinary person who has a mortgage -> Gives cheque to bank as a mortgage payments = Bank win.

This could play out in all sorts of ways that ensure that cheque ends up with a bank.

Christianity, the African Religion: The Future of World Christianity Is African

High fertility is characterized by high faith.

One 2015 survey asked respondents whether they felt religious. Atop the list were three African countries—Ethiopia, Malawi, and Niger, all at 99 percent—and all the top 25 nations were located in Africa, the Middle East, or Southeast Asia. Each of these nations reported religious sentiments with response rates of 95 percent or higher. At the other extreme were 23 nations drawn mainly from Europe (14 nations) but with several Asian nations also. When asked about the role that religion played in their lives, Africa produced some of the highest numbers reporting “very important”: 98 percent in Ethiopia, 88 percent in Nigeria, 86 percent in Uganda.

This demographic story also draws the emerging map of the world’s great Christian centers. Already by 2050, Africa will be home to more than a billion Christians, by far the largest concentration on the planet. That doesn’t take African migrants living around the world into account, that mighty Christian diaspora. The rate of numerical change is astonishing—and accelerating.
Only 9 million Christians were in Africa in 1900, but by the year 2010, there were an estimated 500 million Christians, and that number is projected to increase to 1.1 billion by 2050.

I wonder what he does with a girlfiend so young. He can't really talk to her as they're completely on different levels of thinking. He can't her. He can't take her anywhere.

Myths the Media Perpetuate About Gun Control | RealClearPolitics

Myth 1: Los Angeles Times: “Why the U.S. is No. 1 — in mass shootings”

This claim is based on one study by Adam Lankford at the University of Alabama. Lankford asserted that the U.S. accounted for 31% of mass public shooters from 1966 to 2012, despite having less than 5% of the world population. But for over four years, he refused requests from both academics and media outlets, including Real Clear Politics, Fox News, and the Washington Post, to release his data. When he finally released his list of cases after I had published an academic paper going through the data, it was clear why he had waited so long. He had over-counted cases in the U.S. and missed thousands of others in the rest of the world.

The United States accounted for just 1% of the shooters — far less than its share of the world population. France, Switzerland, Russia, Finland, and Norway all have substantially higher per capita fatality rates than does the U.S. Indeed, France’s rate is 111% higher than ours. By far, the worst mass public shootings have occurred in Europe.

Americans may be surprised by these numbers, because they hear so little about mass shootings in other countries.

Pompeo says he and Pentagon warned Russia against bounties on US troops in Afghanistan

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday that he and the Pentagon warned Russia against the suspected bounties placed on U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
The secretary of State said in an interview with Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty that he cautioned Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about the CIA’s intelligence on the bounties. Pompeo also said the Pentagon delivered a similar warning to Russian military leaders.
“If the Russians are offering money to kill Americans or, for that matter, other Westerners as well, there will be an enormous price to pay. That’s what I shared with Foreign Minister Lavrov,” Pompeo said, according to a State Department transcript.
