How to install stainless steel without replacing soundtrack?

The only thing that bothers me about this mod is the fact that it also changes the music. I would really like to keep the vanilla soundtrack, since I like it better.
Is there a way to do that?

I guess you could back up the vanilla music, install SS, delete SS music and put vanilla music back in.

I already tried that but it seems that when and for how long the music is supposed to play is determined by some kind of other setting/file in the game.

about the music during the battle if you mute then unmute the track will change

but if you want to completly change the music you want it to play you need to edit descr_sounds, also once you edit that file delete the dat and idx files found in the sounds folder, start the game and the idx and dat should rebuild new ones and the changes done in descr_sounds should take effect, descr_sounds is in teh Data folder
