His apology: http://edition.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/....ap/index.html
I feel bad for him, but it was uncalled for as much as it was understandable to get back at a heckler.

I wonder what the black guy said in the first place.

If I have a problem with something you do or say is it okay for me to launch a racial tirade against every single white person on TWC?
I would say that I hope Richards carreer is destroyed, but thats already been the case way before this event.
He was heckling him and basically telling him that his act wasn't funny. And if you've watched Micheal Richards stand-up, he's not that funny. How this has anything to do with someone being black is beyond me.

Hah, I saw that on Tucker today. I was actually shocked at something, for once. It was so utterly perplexing, really.
I'm not shocked at all. Kramer is not "white" or a "cracker". He is a zionist, and therefore a racist. To someone like him, all 'goyim' are open game for racisim. Doubt it? Research the fact that several months ago, 3000 temporary chinese workers in israel had to sign a paper stating they wouldn't date jewish women will working there. It is also frowned upon - nigh illegal, to mary a non israeli if a citizen there. Racist jokes are fine when directed at whites, blacks, asians and latinos - but never at a jew. The only reason why he appologized is that it was just too open and blatant. Notice how on You Tube you can access anything normally, but to watch this you have to register. This is to deter casual viewership that could not be bothered registering.

interesting, only one gets censored![]()
No he should be defamed, blackballed and pushed into courses for racial toleranance. That's what the ADL and the jewish league did to Gibson.
Otherwise, " I had some crackers with my soup this morning" would look like "I had some ******** with my soup this morning." And people would think "What? He had some ****ing **** with his soup this morning??":hmmm:

He was basically heckling Richards and saying his act wasn't funny, something which is a regular thing in comedy clubs. If you're not funny, you get booed and cussed.
I know, I'm a bit of a heckler myself.
I just thought maybe they said something specific that could provoke a racist reaction.
Possibly something racist as well, they called him a cracker later on, maybe they called him a cracker before he called them *******?
It just sounds strange for him to start making racial insults out of the blue.
I mean it's understandable trying to get back at people who were interrupting your bit the dirtiest way you know how. It might be easy to cast this holier-than-thou thing from up aloft, but in that position you feel pressured, and he went off the deep end about it. That's understandable. Not acceptable, but understandable. It was understandable? WTF is wrong with you? If I have a problem with something you do or say is it okay for me to launch a racial tirade against every single white person on TWC?
He apologizes, acknowledges the nonsense he caused and everything along with it. I pity him for the mistake he made. I do not sympathise with those who cast racial slurs for no good reason.

If you meant lashing out at a heckler, then yeah thats understandable. But even then, I've seen standup comics and they handle hecklers with much more class. But the fact is that he revealed his true nature with this tirade. The same nature he shares with Mel Gibson.
There is nothing "holier-than-thou" about people criticising him. As an immigrant I have been stressed and pushed to the limit with racial abuse all my life and I have NEVER reacted with racial insults against anybody, whether he be black, brown, white or yellow.
In Mr. Richards case there wasn't even any initial racial dimension to what the hecklers were saying. They simply said he sucked, if he wants to lash out at them then fine. But where on earth did all that "50 years ago you were hanging from a tree with a pitchfork up your ass" come from?
He lost his cool, because he couldn't come up with any funny to throw back at the heckler. He could have said anything, anything but ******. Even if he isn't a rascist he deserves the negative attention because he just wasn't funny at all and he dealt with it the wrong way.
Muhaha
Definitely un-called for period, not only was it racist and ridiculous, the heckler hardly said anything that would warrant such a crazy response.
"Harvey Levin, who runs TMZ.com, said the heckling was not severe and should not have prompted such a fierce tirade from the comedian.
"It was simply a heckler who said, 'You know what? My friends don't think you're that funny.' That's all he said," said Levin.
"(The heckling) wasn't really horrible or over the line, and it just sent (Richards) off in to this incredible, racist tirade," Levin added. "
At least he apologized, but I'm left wondeingr how sincere he really was.
Just a reminder, please refrain from flaming. Attack the argument, not the person.
Thanks!![]()
Great update, folks. I just caught the late edition of CNN, that incredible propaganda matrix, and they played nearly three quarters of the event, and included the back and forth racial slurs between kramer and the patron, all over looked by that sultry, sexy, front page shill, soledad o'brien. Almost nothing was edited out. They then interveiwed several black congressess and interest groups who watched kramer appologize on david letterman, and they unanimously said it wasn't enough. They demanded he go to 'the scene of the crime' and basically ingratiate himself to african american society. Both ironic and humorous that the two racial groups most responsible for out right racial insults in their media and music are at loggerheads with each other. Takes the pressure off of poor old Mel.
