Default For King or Country mod help

I've been trying to run the For King of Country mod for M2TW with no success. Running on Steam, Windows Vista.

I followed the installation instructions and put it into the regular Med2 folder. When trying to run it from here, it creates the new window, shows the initial start-up screen which has the mod's name and the two cannons, then 'Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now close.' On going through the instructions again I realised these were for the disk version of the game. So I tried moving the mod and all related folders into the 'Mods' folder with all my other mods. When running it there I don't even get the start-up screen, just the black box for a millisecond that comes when starting up most mods. When trying to start it in the Med2 folder I get report logs saved in the Reports folder. If it would help anyone I can post these.

So does anyone have any experience running this? I've asked on the mod's forum but the guy attending it hasn't got back to me and on reading through other pages of him trying to help people, he's said many times in the past that he cannot help people with Steam versions of the game and has advised them to try here instead. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is this a kingdoms mod? If not then it will need porting to be able to play in steam after the merging of the two exe files.

Open the original BAT file of th emod (right click\edit) and have a look if it references the medieval2.exe or the kingdoms.exe
