    Also, perhaps merging these two provinces would also be the right choice;

    Why you ask?
    Because it was, and is, one of the least populated areas on Earth;

    https://www.google.hr/maps/place/Tur...69a491!6m1!1e1
    https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...lite_photo.jpg

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...lation_density

    Turkmenistan is 221st on the list.

    ...and it's on the edge of the map.

    Heh, I did the rest of the factions, however, as I was about to post the reply the TWC forum send me a message;

    "Your submission could not be processed because you have logged in since the previous page was loaded. Please push the back button and reload the previous window."

    Of course, I was not able to reload the previous window and everything was lost.

    I will take some time off now to go and cool of my rage a bit.
    Seems like my original idea of posting just one faction info per post was the correct/safe one.

    I'l probably try to redo the whole thing tomorrow.

    Cheers.

    This happens to me when it takes me too long to finish typing a new post and in the meanwhile I make no other hits in any of the threads in the TWC.
    The server treats this gap in activity as a getting-off-line-without-a-log-off but the window where you are typing the post remains seemingly open and active.
    If you have just finished typing a long post and you suspect that the site has logged you off, then before submitting it, open a new forum window in a new tab and log-in if necessary.
    Then submit your post.
    It works for me but if you really want to be on the safe side with very long posts then you might also want to click anywhere in your text and then click ctr-A to select everything and ctrl-C to copy them in the temporary memory of your PC.
    If the first way has failed you then your post is still not lost, all you need to do is start a new post and click ctrl-V.

    I did that, I just returned and edited some notes for a minute and it appears that it took to long

    Yeah, I usually do this when this happens because the site has a failsafe and lets you return to the previous site where the entire text is still there waiting for you...this one and only time, it did not allow me to do so...for some reason.
    Bah.

    While I'm about;

    I suggest correcting the title of the thread since the start date was (kinda)agreed to be the year 1300, with that, I would also suggest pushing the end date to 1500/1517/1529 to encompass the entirety of the High and Late middle ages including the Maximilian period, this would give roughly 400-440ish turns on a 2TPY gameplay.

    This would give way for creating a separate "Pike and Shot" era you mentioned, starting at the early 16th century.
    It would be far better to remove the late middle ages from this era since it is completely unnecessary to make players wait 40-80 turns for proper pike and musket units/armies.
    Not to mention the huge historical implications and themes that would get in the way...like the fact that Spain did not even exist prior to 1492(arguably 1516)...

    Yup, I've used it quite a lot...you just need loads of money

    As for New Provinces
    Uppsala -> Leeuwarden
    Skara -> Brno
    Mashhad -> Coimbra or Ajaccio?
    Aberdeen -> Messina/Siracusa or Laibach?
    Murom -> Ryazan (region unchanged just capital change)
    Rostov -> Moskau (region unchanged just capital change) Vladimir and Suzdal Forts with huge rebel stacks since Muscovy didnt control these until 1320

    Yeah ctrl+A ctrl+C is a must when writing long posts :/

    I'm keeping the 1470 end date for now = 340 turns
    Late Campaign could start ~1492 for sure.

    Heh, you would consider Georgia before Naples

    I am(finally) nearly done with the family trees.
    Being very busy, I had to delay it a couple of times.

    Will post the whole thing today

    Family trees will have to be postponed for a couple of hours.

    For the meantime, I have created an image of a scenario in which the Kingdom of Naples replaced Muscowy(reasoning is Novgorod was the most powerful Russian faction until the 1460s and Muscowy did not really expand that much until the late 15th century);

    Map is based on over 30-40 different maps.
    The white lined grey areas are rebel provinces.

    If you have any questions feel free to inquire

    If i'm not mistaken, Esztergom and Kassa are under Polish control zone, why, what was the political situation?

    Shouldn't England control Bordeaux or you prefer the approach of just owned forts in the area? if so you could place some red dots where english forces should be.

    Why Sicily is not owned by Aragon but Granada is owned by Marinids? double standards there xD.

    Currently Turku is just a fort in Unconquerable land, will it be it's own region or be part of Uppland?

    Thanks a lot for your efforts man!
    Have to spread rep elsewhere 1st

    For keeping things simple

    Georgia = Georgia
    Sicily = Angevin Naples
    Kievan_rus -> Serbia
    Timurids -> Hafsids

    Well at the end of the 13th century both the kingdom of Poland and Hungary fell apart.

    Wenceslaus II of Bohemia, after his father being forced out of Austria, secured his own position in Bohemia and Moravia.
    However, he was not satisfied with the fact that he was still a mere dignitary of the Holy Roman Empire and the his title of King(of Bohemia) was not a proper one.

    Thus, in 1291, he managed to force Przemysł II, the High Duke of Poland, to cede the sovereign Duchy of Kraków to him. Kraków was associated with the overlordship of Poland, after Przemysł's died in 1296, Wenceslaus became overlord of Poland and in 1300, he was crowned King of Poland...thus he became king without a single swing of a sword whilst actually restoring Poland as a state.

    He was now king of Poland and king of Bohemia.

    In 1290, Ladislaus IV of Hungary died without a male heir and civil war began with Andrew III on one side, and Charles Anjou(Naples) on the other side.

    Edit; removed giant wall of text; just realized that Wenceslaus and Wenceslaus are not the same person but Wenceslaus of Bohemia had the genius idea to name his son after himself

    Thus Wenceslaus of Bohemia never became king of Hungary, the provinces should be rebel then.
    My mistake.

    England lost the entirety of Gascony in 1286 and did not retrieve it until 1303, they lost it again though and had to retrieve it again in 1324 after final deals were struck with the French.

    The problem with their troops is the fact that they never tried to take it back by force though...

    Because even the completely separate kingdom of Sicily under Frederick III of Aragon, was not recognized(nor the island fully conquered) until 31 August 1302 and thus, did not really exist.

    I thought that putting Frederick as a family member(younger brother of the king) with a full stack on the island would do the trick.
    Or would you rather have Sicily as Aragonese from the start?

    Part of Uppland, so that Sweden's AI gets interested in the other side of the Baltics.
    ...hmm rather not, we should not give any more threats to Novgorod, it already has enough problems.

    Let Turku be Terra Incognita.

    Do not think that I put Naples in because I am sneaky

    I did it when I finished the map and realized that entire Italy is rebel

    There is no going around Naples apparently...

    The next big question is...Portugal or the Timurids?

    Well maybe have english diplomat and merchant in the area

    I'd rather have the aragonese family member at palermo, with rebel forts in the island and extra Turmoil added via script for higher difficulty levels.

    Why you want to remove portugal?
    I find it just fine there to give trouble to power hungry Castillans xD

    Bah, I was clustered with random life events.
    Delaying the family tree for another couple of hours(this time I mean hours ).
    I am nearly done.

    Aragon in Sicily then.
    Alright.

    Is Sicily a one province island then?

    I would also like to have Portugal ingame, I just wondered if not having Timurids would be a turn off for some people, especially since the startdate is far closer to their invasion than any other playable scenario on TW.
    Also, we do already have two Mongol factions that will require no invasion scripting or help so perhaps it is for the best...rather than removing Portugal or Serbia.

    Also, notice the border between the Mamelukes and the Ilkhanate and realize that they will be at war during startdate.
    That will be a very, very interesting few starting turns right there

    Well TBH the mod already has re-emerging factions, it could be scripted that if the Ilkhanate is wiped out before 135X, it triggers Timur the Lame's Invasion using same Ilkhanate faction.

    In that case is better to replace factions this way.
    Timurid -> Ilkhanate
    Kwarezm -> Hafsids
    Can keep already existing Timurid Invasion script and just need to tweak the triggers.

    Mameluks will be one of the most powerful factions at game start.

    Timurid -> Ilkhanate
    Kwarezm -> Hafsids
    Can keep already existing Timurid Invasion script and just need to tweak the triggers.
    That is excellent.
    There is so much that can be done with that feature...
    So...many...ideas...gah!

    What is the "spawnpool" faction?

    reserved faction slot for spawning characters with unique names, or any other use in advanced scripts such as named forts, bulgarian uprising, etc.
    apparently gsthoed had/has greater plans for it but dunno.

    Nice work there Marius Marich, thank you for all i just have a little comments, suggestions and minor additions about Portugal

    First i translated your quote so all the names are in current portuguese, since some were already in Portuguese others where their english versions:

    Additions:

    Some ideas for the Traits:
    "King Dinis I" title was "The Farmer" also recognized by the Poet or Trovadour, he was a much more admninstrative King then military, and founded the first university in Lisbon, later transfered to Coimbra. He created some songs in the style of the "Cantigas de amigo" of Alfonso X of Leon & Castille.

    His Son Prince Afonso (Later King Afonso IV), had as a title "the brave" he was considered a brave military commander.

    King Dinis organized the first true "portuguese Navy" under the command of the genoese "Manuel Pessanha" so there is a name for the first portuguese admiral in the game.

    Although he was born only in 1360 i would love if you would put a general with the name "Nuno Álvares Pereira" (at least as a name that can come up later in the game), he was considered the greatest portuguese military genious, and won every battle he fought, always against superior odds. He was the patron of portuguese infantry.

    PS: It would be nice if you changed the name of Lisbon to "Lisboa", since all the other "portuguese" cities are in portuguese. just a suggestion of course if it stays the same there is no problem. The same goes for all cities, i just don't know which are in english form.
