Dont you guys think there is to few factions. Only 21.
There is too many rebel factions at the start.
As i know in europe at those times, everything was owned by some1.

Everythings was owned by someone but not necessarily by the superpowers. And there are many small unplayable factions, like swiss, for example. Rebels are factions, but in the game they are just background factions that are given 0 importance other than not being one of the 21.
I sin for the good of humankind
"I praise, I do not reproach, [nihilism's] arrival. I believe it is one of the greatest crises, a moment of the deepest self-reflection of humanity. Whether man recovers from it, whether he becomes master of this crisis, is a question of his strength."
-Nietzsche
Truth is not a law, a democracy, a book or a norm not even a constitution. Nor can it be read in the stars.
Swiss are NOT a faction (just rebels). I hear theres 10 extra faction slot so there will be a mod with more faction's in europe. Besides makeing a faction takes allot work so CA wouldve taken longer in releaseing the game so 21 it was.
yeah with 10 extra factions it should be a lot better.
i dont take pleasure fighting rebel factions.
its really boring, and i always try to avoid fighting them (cbf).

Rebels are still better in M2TW than they were in MTW or RTW... they were complete pushovers before, now at least they have better defenses and larger armies... takes more than a general and a unit of archers to conquer towns![]()

Too few factions is right, however the map is too small to really support more factions than are already currently available. It seems like the old RTW map just upgraded slightly with different settlement locations and names. Maybe I was spoiled by the larger maps that were made for the RTW mods but this map is simply put too small.
I like just about everything about this game but for the map and lack of factions, economys suffer because there aren't enough ports, roads and settlements. Plus way too many repetitive catholic factions, crusades are fun and all but the pope can get annoying when he interferes with my conquests and diplomacy.
The thing is, most "rebels" aren't actually rebels, at least the ones that have cities, they are just smaller independent nations that are too small to have been made into a faction. That's why they have different names other than just "rebels"
The only true rebels are the bandits and pirates and such that roam around the roads and waterways.

thats true. And another good feature here, dont bother attacking cities without any kind of siege weaponry

It'd be really good to be able to play as the Welsh and Irish in the UK. There were some very Large battles that they fought and also they have their own unique units.
yeah i have to agree with you on this one. Map feels a bit small (maybe if there were many more smaller provinces with more factions). Now that would be cool. Eg balkan, it has 1 big zagreb province, which is not even historically accurate, and balkan should have more more provinces all together.

I think a Town class settlement should have been included in the game. And that Towns should be the only settlements that can build farms, cause it seems that when you build a farm in a major city, it FILLS the whole land with farms!?
More factions, totally. I find it that the superpowers should start of just like the minor factions just to make the game a little less predictable as to "England and France hate each other" ect.
more provinces and factions is right.
too bad we have to rely on a volunteer labor of benevolent modders to complete the job and get it done.
Well, the whole farm thing, you just have to realize that when you build farms it's like you're doing it for the whole province.. just like watchtowers in MTW ringed the province they were built in. Maybe 30-50% more settlements, but not too much, as settlement-overload is annoying. And don't hate CA for the faction thing, they included 31 factions slots to let you do your thing, so do your thing!

why couldnt they give more than 31 factions
lets say mmmm 40?
now imagine playing europe with 40 factions
now thats something

Yea but games with too big of a map and too many cities gets boring, too much seiging and too long to make a big empire. Also, wars drag out forever. I remember trying to play as Armenia in RTR and it just was way too long and drawn out.
And i think 21 factions is plenty to start out as, seeing as how having a bunch of little one province factions would really suck unless there was a little rebel territory for easy expansion.
Life is an STD with a 100 percent fatality rate.
hope the modders are thinking of flanders (Antwerp , brugge)
I swear some of you will find anything to complain about. 21 initial factions in this game is JUST FINE. If, say, the Irish or the Welsh were in this game, they'd start out with like one settlement. Thats hardly a faction.
Dead, all dead but me, and I'm dead to the world.
What, who said we were complaining, we were suggesting how we could make the game better. That's hardly a complaint.I swear some of you will find anything to complain about
Well, can rebels take settlements? Nope, only through an uprising. So I think they are definite contenders for being a faction.they'd start out with like one settlement. Thats hardly a faction.
I dont understand the basis for the "theres alot of freaking rebels around, helpie me!" argument.
Yes, there were no "rebel states" but the HRE could still stomp on Switzerland on its own. The problem is occupation, and if you make the argument for having 50 factions in the game, then you very well better make the argument for making the game so complicated and conspiciously detailed that it'll be just as hard to conquer enemy territory as it is to hold on to it.
