Ιt's not making the units better. They're just less varied which affects the performance and increases fps
I believe an update should be available when Dresden has the time to check this. Be aware that missing textures issues were also introduced after patch 18 and have no connection with this submod.
You can also just decrease texture and other settings that will reduce variation naturally in the game I believe.
Honestly I just don't have time to go through every single unit and remove variations. I already have way too much stuff to do right now.
Sure. That will do it. It will also decrease the quality of the unit's armor and weaponry as well though. For example the chain mail looks very blurry and pixelated on lower settings. But that's normal and expected so people have to use the setting thing for now.
Anyone could check the Tech thread as well, to gain some FPS and smoother performance etc.

Not sure if this is the right place to report this, but I think the longer research/build times submod needs to be updated. It makes my game crash while I'm using it.

I've had no trouble using all these others together for hundreds of turns in a previous campaign, but when I add the double build/research times I start getting crash on trying to liberate and randomly during AI turns. And it stops as soon as I remove the mod as well.
And you have the most updated version of the submod? The old version had the liberate crash but thats from a long time ago. I will update it again to see if that helps at all.
Edit - reupdated, maybe it was linked to the old one still
I can confirm that the 2x build and technology cost submod doesn't seem to work, just keeps crashing me.
EDIT: I tried deleting all tables but 1 each time too, each table caused it to crash, I removed all tables and imported the vanilla DEI tech tables, doubled the cost, it still crashed, it seem as if the file itself is cursed.
