Constant Clicking When in Battle and Random Scroll locks After Windows 10

So I updated to Windows 10 and was feeling like playing my favorite game of all time, which is M2TW but I had some new problems that I've never had before. I'm not 100% that the upgrade caused this problem, but it wasn't doing things like this before.

To put it plainly, it seems like inputs are getting stuck and repeating for whatever reason. When on the campaign map I will randomly just scroll to the left or right or zoom in and it won't stop. I have to just fiddle with my numeric keypad's directional controls till it stops. Turning NumLock off does not help. It's annoying here but it's even worse in battles. Whenever I click a unit and tell it to move it almost seems like it's just clicking over and over so the units just keep trying to direct themselves but never move. It'll flash the black VCR style arrows on the unit's tab at the bottom and they will just keep acting like they are going to move but don't. This makes battles completely unplayable. I've tried turning my mouse on and off, toggling different buttons like NumLk and Capslock - nothing breaks the constant click until I deselect the units or select another unit.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Anyone ever have the same issue? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Never heard of this issue before - it will very likely be Win10 related, possibly a mouse issue. If this is the disk version you could give the steam version a shot.

It's funny - I am playing on steam. But as of yesterday there hasn't been any report on their forums about an issue like this so I was hoping that this was just something that maybe happened when switching to 8 before or if anyone else had similar.

I am afraid as of now I have no idea what it might cause this, Win10 is simply too new (I am still waiting for my turn to upgrade). Do you have any other problems with the mouse or your keyboard outside the game?

I have heard some users of Rome 1 on Steam changing to borderless mode (using command line: -ne) and this proved fruitful. Medieval 2 is mentioned too. I don't use Steam at all so I can't really elaborate but it may be of some use to you. Check these links:
