Default only getting d/u/l family members

    hi,
as the title states, i have a huge problem with useless family members, the last 6 or so of them all where dull/uncharismatic/langorous.
is there any mechanic i am not aware of or am i just incredibly unlucky? playing as baktria btw

on another note, i have build a basilike arche (royal administration) in baktra but can't progress to the next lvl eleutheria kai autonomica (helennic administration). are there any culture requirements that are not listed in the building browser?
plus i don't even know if that is the next lvl or maybe the satrapy... very confused...

on yet another note, is it normal that the turn of eleutheroi takes as much time as the turning of all other factions combined?

and i got one last point, i conquered chach from the sakae and there is still a pastoralism building present which i can't destroy, are there any requirements for doing so or is this working as intended?

    1. You have to somehow kill off the most useless FMs. Keep the best ones. That's why you get more FMs than you need, I figure.
    2. Yep, it's normal to have to wait long for Eleutheroi at the beginning (look how many cities and armies they have). It gets better later as factions get eliminated.
    3. No clue.

but you can't push helenisation with just basilike arche because you can't build sitologia (lvl 5 farming) with it

You can't build the full range until you upgrade Baktra to a Basilike Patris (baktria7), which you can't do until you have a polis_three and helcol_three. In 2.03k, that's not really possible until independence.

Basilike Arche is actually the best government avaliable to Baktria - the order in building browser does not necessarily signify the quality of government. I think EB team might as wellmake the icons have numbers signifying the government quality like in first EB

I think this is just bad luck sometimes it happens to me. were they adopted or born in to the dynasty?

i conquered chach from the sakae and there is still a pastoralism building present which i can't destroy
Are you taking about the herds building? what is the name of it?

You actually don't want vigorous characters, lazy guys make for better governors while energetic ones for better generals.

Do they? I always thought it was more important for generals but that it affected governorships too because langouros soemtimes have not the energy to keep doing their work properly and end not paying to attention. I remeber getting some bad traits in relation with things like that and thought it was due to thye having bad vigor.

A question is, is really worth it to kill FM with bad base traits? I mean for the first 100 turns you are ussually short on them and it doesnt seem like the sons traits are mainly random follow much their parents traits.

We will either find a way, or make one.

I don't know, I don't murder them right away but only after education, when I see which guys are going places and which are going to be a burden.

To be honest I understand traits in Broken Crescent, Third Age or Stainless Steel waaaay better than those here... We seriously could use a site like Honga for EB2 traits to be able to read them easier: http://totalwar.honga.net/traits.php...rohan&c=family

I just say because most times until the games advances notably killing a FM means one more settlement without governor. A thing I like to minimize due to playstyle. And aslo one less source of getting more FM.

And from my experience the new FM are mostly random, for example in all my last playthorughs where I kept track of the newborns the best son I got from a 3/3 was at most 1/3, so better have as much as possible to be able to make a selection later on.
But in general I get my best generals after the start from marriage and adoption. Good ones seem to appear there much more often than in FM born inside the familly.

We will either find a way, or make one.

the building was the predecessor of Society: Uniform Pastoralism, couldn't destroy the old nor the new one. was able to install a allied gov but no possibility to build walls.

is it even possible to convert a nomadic province into a settled province?

Herds increase Nomadic culture while farms increase the settled Tribal culture. Get rid of the the Herd pastures to build your Farm land further and vice versa. When the population gets high and the culture has changed to less then 50% nomadic you will have the option to change to a settlement. In some regions it would be unrealistic to have settlements in that era. I think at least half are unchangeable but i don't know which ones.
