Kalvan of Otherwhen, H Beam Piper, Down Styphon, Hostigos
In the 60s there was a book called Kalvan of Otherwhen about a man that was sent sideways in time from our reality to that of a civilization that lived along the Eastern part of the United States whose technology was that of Pike and Musket era.
It was by H Beam Piper called Kalvan of Otherwhen. There was some unofficial miniature rules made for it, but this series, continued on by writer John F Carr, would be great for M2TW. Kalvan introduces a better type of gunpowder so he would have stronger arquebus and musket units, even start rifling.
He however is generally outnumber as his enemies have more gold to hire more troops. So it sets us battles of a smaller, better trained, better equiped group against a more massive, slightly technologically inferior group.
I searched to see if anyone thought that this would be interesting and didn't find any discussion, so thought we might start some.
