Default Petition to Remove/Improve the Hardcoded Limits

Hello mod community! Have you ever hit a hard coded limit and cried out to the heavens? If so, or even if not, you are probably in the same boat as me and 300 modders and mod-layers who signed this petition so far!

Essentially, Medieval 2 has a series of hard-coded limits which are illegal to change and break the game if you exceed them. The most well known examples of this are the cap of 255 unit models and ~32 factions for any one mod.

We've proposed that Creative Assembly either remove the hard coded limits entirely, or more realistically improve them to some middle ground of sorts so that modding can get even stronger. CA has already shown that it does not show much interest in supporting full conversions in its newer titles, but perhaps they'd be more willing to help improve their older products which still sell for mods today, while do not compete with their newer titles for sales.

    FAQ:
Why would Creative Assembly even bother with this?
If enough people sign the petition then they would at least be compelled to respond. It wouldn't hurt them and from my experience, would probably encourage more sales seeing as people still buy this game for mods. I know I did.

Didn't Creative Assembly lose the source code for Medieval 2? Doesn't that make changes impossible?
Almost exactly one year ago (July 22, 2014 or 22 July 2014), the Steam version of the game received an update combining Kingdoms and Medieval 2 into one program on Steam and making Kingdoms DLC instead of a separate expansion product. There may be a good reason why these are not the same thing, but if they can make a major Steam patch, then why can't they change a couple of variables?

Why is this a problem for modders?
The 'Hard-code' is the section of code in the game protected by copyright. While the entire product is copy-written in some way, these parts are unmodifiable under penalty of lawsuit to the consumer.

Who has supported this so far?
While I cannot make blanket statements, we have support in the Westeros Total War, Hyrule: Total War, Elder Scrolls Total War, Rise of Three Kingdoms, and Third Age communities already. And now you as well!

What can I do to help?
Sign this petition of course! Other than that, spread the word. Send it to other websites. Message me with contact information for Creative Assembly. Anything that extends the life-span and power of this petition.

Have I seen this thread before?
I've begun to copy/paste these threads. It seems to make sense to have a unified approach to this topic so don't take this as a lack of personal care. It seems as though making this be one unified effort will enlist stronger support.
